Van Den Berg's Bandage

I saw some training ground footage recently of Rav without his bandage on his wrist. I dont recall him suffering any specific injury and I also dont remember him ever not wearing it.
Footballers being the superstitious bunch that they are, my brother and I were wandering if it is now a latent injury and he has decided to keep wearing the lucky bandage.
I like this idea. When he's playing for Real Madrid in a few years time and is a FIFA icon, I'd like to see his FIFA avatar on the Playstation with the same wrist bandage.

Does anyone know why he wears this bandage.

My obsession with it is unhealthy and I cannot not think about his wrist bandage every time I see him or hear his name.

He's had it a while, I spotted it before Christmas when I took my young 'un to the club shop to get him to sign something.

I thought it was strange then, so took a snap;

He was out at the start of the season with a “hand injury”… don’t know if it was a fracture or dislocation or what.


No idea why he’s still got it bandaged up 4 months later though!

Maybe it's like how Luis Suarez or Jamie Vardy have/had their their wrists taped up for years. Starts with an injury and then becomes some sort of superstitious thing.
