Vaccine passport on its way.

In effect they’re here already, I’m back in the UK and I’d be in quarantine now if I couldn’t prove I had two jabs.

Its been suggested that the threat of a passport, just before the Parliamentary recess is to " encourage" some slackers to get the 2nd jab, thereby increasing the percentage of 2 jabs and reducing the need for a passport. Seems a little too well thought out for this govt

Mine does. I have a page with a QR Code ( the square barcode type thing) and another page showing the date and codes of my 2 vaccinations and their manufacturer. I have taken a screen shot of mine, brought it up in my picture gallery and obviously it is to all intents and purposes accurate. What therefore stops people sharing and using other peoples screenshots of their details to gain access to venues?

I am guessing nothing, short of someone insisting they watch you open your app through to where your data is evident, which wont happen due to the time it takes. I would guess venues will expect people to have already opened their app to the point where the data shows for them to scan a code or see the 2 jab record page.

Maybe coluka. As with everything from the current government it won't be thought out nor implemented in any meaningful way.

In fact it will never be implemented, Johnson simply won't be allowed to.

You think that, I think that, I am not so sure our government do though and it seems changes are afoot to put us in our place If that Daily Mail article I just posted comes about. Dark times ahead, the freedoms we enjoyed are clearly secretly being eroded and cancelled, Whistleblowers look like they are about to become criminals.

I do believe it coluka, in a couple of years we will have the opportunity to evict this government. If we decide to keep them, more fool us.

I must admit I would be a bit sceptical of any DM article and their own agenda re freedom although I haven’t read it so can’t comment.

My point about freedom is that it isn’t unfettered we have to live our lives ( fortunately) taking into account our actions on others.

We do, but collectively, if we don't like the way things are heading we can vote against it. That is why it's by consent.

Agreed but this government are slowly trying to move the goalposts. If they were to get another 5 years I fear for our children and grandchildren's futures.

As much as I can not abide Dominic Cummings and as much as I don’t trust a word he says, his interview the other day was enlightening. Of course his motives are in part revenge, but that should not stop us accepting his version of the past albeit with some wariness. We do need to break the 2 party system, it really works against the public interest and allows cronyism, deception, misappropriation these ultra vires acts that never get penalised. What he has in mind to replace it may well not be what I would like to see though, he didn’t say. We desperately need PR to achieve concensus and bring the uk back together imho. I doubt Labour want that either though.

You are right though we need them out asap. I think now is the time for the others to form an alliance in some way, to try to ensure it happens for the sake of the country as a whole. Another 5 years is just unthinkable, but as things stand the most likely outcome i am sad to say.
