Undercooked, Weak & Missing in Action

Did we leave the transfer window undercooked? Apart from a massive gaping hole at right back..

We still have a number of weak points in the squad..

MF 4 Dan Barlaser - not up to scratch
ST 14 Alex Gilbert - missing in action
RB 15 Anfernee Dijksteel - missing in action
DF 17 Paddy McNair - was told he could leave, but we needed him
LB 27 Lukas Engel - it's a little bit unfair.. but also unfair on Hayden Coulson
AM 18 Samuel Silvera - in at the deep end and in ahead of more established players

Sure we have the January transfer window where we can fix EVERYTHING

DF 12 Reggie Cannon - Free Agent - exactly what we need right now
ST 20 Julián Carranza - Philadelphia Union - most likely striker target imo
MF 30 Josh Brownhill - Burnley - Loan - what a coup.. desperately needed
AM 31 Chuba Akpom - Ajax - Loan - one can dream
RB 53 Ben Johnson - West Ham - Loan - mentioned in the summer would be superb
LB 33 Ryan Giles - Luton Town - Loan - hey.. it's not that bad of an idea

What do we have in the squad now.. seen as Carrick refuses to adapt to the situation. Do we have any readymades we can just drop into the squad to brighten up the scufflers?

DF 57 Bryant Bilongo - I'm a big fan and have been championing him for a long time.. why are the newbies getting dropped in before him at left back?
ST 38 Daniel Nkrumah - could easily take the place of Alex Gilbert right now
MF 39 Terrell Agyemang - this kid is 100% the next in like for the Robson, Leadbitter, Howson midfield bloodline.. not Dan Barlaser
AM 50 Finn Cartwright - pfft dunno.. Samuel Silvera is getting the nod over all our promising academy lads.. and established players.. why not?
RB 45 George Gitau - I mean.. right back is a massive issue right now.. unless we look to Isiah Jones to solve it
LB 58 Sam Collins - did well in pre season.. no complaints.. more up to speed than Lukas Engel.. who I do hope comes good btw.

The shake up? We need it right now.. i'll keep saying we need to move to 3-5-2 until I'm blue in the face.

We don't have as many options as it seems.. but I would change out Dan Barlaser for Terrell Agyemang straight away, Bryant Bilongo would get the nod over Lukas Engel

I hope you've consulted with Nobby on these signings, we are only accepting players who are in 'Nobby's Notebook', anything else won't do. ;)

Stop coming after my boy Barlaser Newy he's done nothing to get your ire...

He's been in the games we've won AND was on the pitch when we were drawing in the first couple of games.

DF 12 Reggie Cannon - pfft, a pipe dream
ST 20 Julián Carranza - Nobby only does UK.. picked him up on my recent MLS scouting mission.
MF 30 Josh Brownhill - linked in the summer, Burnley's best player.. could well be in the notebook
AM 31 Chuba Akpom - he played for us last season.. was quite good
RB 53 Ben Johnson - i've been a fan for quite some time.. thought he would have been a good signed if we'd have been promoted..
LB 33 Ryan Giles - Luton Town - in everyone's notebook.. the boy wonder.. if only we had been promoted.. we could have moaned about signing him.

Maybe Warnock will be able to get a tune out of him? not quick enough for me I'm afraid.

I still think the thing that stopped us from getting promoted was Aaron Ramsey's injury against Norwich. :(

He's a thinker, a visionary, pass picker it's not all about pace when you're sitting deep pinging legendary balls.

Think of him as Patrick Mahomes, he picks up yards despite looking slow
he runs slow and he thinks slow.. Hollywood balls are like wIngy's bangers.. they look good.

THE REPLACEMENTS

Lots has been said about our recruitment not being up to scratch without really looking into who we've bought and why.. and who they have actually replaced.

Steffen GK Dieng - had to be done with Steffen injured
Roberts GK Glover - no one has complained
Daniels GK Jones - no one has noticed
Wood DF Rav Van Den Burg - looks promising, Wood is progressing and will bring money into the club hopefully.
Giles LB Bangura - he's played 69 minutes of football
Bola LB Engel - dropped right in at the deep end to protect the system. played half out games
Mowett MF O'Brien - an improvement as Mowett was injured most of the season
Muniz AM Coburn - project Coburn and easy change out from misfiring Muniz
Ramsey LW Rogers - joined half a season early and played out of position
Akpom ST Latte Laff - big boots to fill.. and being played out of that 'Akpom' position.
Archer ST Greenwood - last minute addition, being played out of position.

THE DEAD WEIGHT

Dijksteel RB - injured leaving no back up for Smith
McNair CB - was told he could leave but was kept as cover for Smith
Coulson LB - given a new contract then booted out of the side.. or injured?
Barlaser MF - he is not up to scratch, defensive midfielder needed.. if Max Bird had not been injured I think he would have been off
Silvera LW - dropped straight into the deep end and pushes ahead of established players.. harsh but true. fine margins innit.
Gilbert AM - under 21 who hasn't been seen.. a development striker if there ever was one.. or injured.

CONCLUSION

Apart from players being thrown in at the deep end, out of position and not having any cover at right back.. what is there to complain about really?

Why do people mention lists of random names on here as though we will sign any of them.
Reggie Cannon - to reiterate that not having a right back is really effecting us.

Julián Carranza - a gentle reminder that we missed out on signing a striker, we were still looking to bring one in and will continue to try in January.

Josh Brownhill - linked in the window and a reminder that the clock is ticking on Johnny Howson.. who we have no back up for.

Chuba Akpom - a tongue in cheek reminder of our record breaking striker who finally came to life last season.

Ben Johnson - another player linked in the summer a right back… bloomin eck

Ryan Giles - provided a lot of assists last season on the left.. just like Jones could do this season from the right.

So not that random really. I guess they are markers and tools to drive the conversation and give fixed points that are not necessary spelt out as being such.
