Uche Ikpeazu

Remember when Warnock talked him up when he played against us, then signed him, then after he started a couple of games for us he told the media he was garbage and he only signed him to be our 3rd or 4th option but we didn't have the players in yet? Good times...
 
Completely forgot about him. Reading the thread title I was like, ‘why is that name familiar’.

Handful. I really enjoy watching the training videos from MFC and Uche was always lethal, scoring screamers at will. Sort of the perfect living example of the saying, “an average League Two striker is much closer to Messi than we are to him”.

I guess so, you and I might hit a 20 yard screamer past a pro keeper 1 in 100. Uche might get 1 in 25, Messi 1 in 2

Thought the way Wilder treated him and Akpom last summer was embarassing, even though he clearly didn't suit the style anymore.

Hope he does well for them, beyond the two obvious matches.

He's a bottom end championship standard top end league one. He wasn't bad for us at all, lack of goals aside. Was it Cardiff away where he absolutely ran them ragged? Possibly the most physical striker I've seen play for us.

His biggest problem, aside from finishing, was the fact he couldn't last much longer than 60 mins. But as a target man for a side near the bottom you could certainly do much worse.

I agree but if we are using Crooks as a plan B striker then Uche is probably no worse, maybe even a slight improvement in that position.

MC would definitely be looking for a better technical footballer though with a bit more mobility.
