* U R my Boro Podcast: Summer Transfer Plans +++[V-41:04] *

For too long we seem to put all of our eggs in one basket when going after players only for us to be outbid or teams coming in from a higher league. I hope we have an actual plan this year. By all accounts Giles, Archer and Ramsey were all meant to be returning if you read through the lines...even though anyone could see that at least Archer and Ramsey were never returning. Even Akpom they thought might stay but that was never happening either. Rav and Rogers were a great bit of business but for every success you're left with duds...imo...Latte Lath, Barlaser and the loans that we weren't meant to be counting on Greenwood, Thomas and Ayling.

We definitely bid for several forwards in January, but got pushed back with high transfer fees, the club now feels exceeds the expenditure “ceiling”? Financially, things have certainly changed, and we may have to push the boat out to find at least one striker and an attacking midfielder for next season. We can't really plod on, expecting other outfield players to replace Archer and Chuba with goals. We need “quality” in certain areas, which appears to be lacking at the moment.
