Tyson fury marching for racism against Travellers

A friend of mine allowed some travellers to tie up their horse on some land he owned. It was just outside of his gated factory. On the night the travellers broke through the fence and stole a load of steel work. It was caught on CCTV. when he approached the travellers, the guy basically just told him it was his fault and he didn't make his site secure enough. "If I can take it, I will" was the answer. He told the traveller that he had been nice to him and let him tie up his horse and that he'd even put food and water out for it. The traveller didnt care in the slightest.
People with non-conformist lifestyle, have non-conformist value system. I'm shocked.

I know quite a few travellers. If you respect them they will respect you. They hate the P word. Fury can bang on about being a traveller all he wants but his life is hardly representative of the Irish and Romany true bloods.

Some of the more worldly elders despair of the behaviour of the youngsters, they also feel the ones that choose to appear on television in programs that are often less than flattering are not keeping with the faith.

The other issue (and this comes from the horses mouth) is the amount of drugs around now.

I would agree travellers covers a very wide spectrum. Many where I live used to live off seasonal agricultural work, but that has changed with increased automation and young people from Eastern Europe doing this work. Some of the bad elements have turned to criminal activities. It is also difficult to find sites for mobile homes which has created a lot of tension and stress for all parties.

So if a group of them parked next to your house i suppose you would give them the benefit of the doubt because they may be nice people?

Nonsense, you would be strait on the phone to get them moved on.

Do you think its justifiable to march through a town with no distancing during these times to prove a point that not all travellers are bad people? It was mentioned above that its like saying everyone in boro is racist because of the woman ripping up the Koran, well would you think a march againt it would be justified at this time? I doubt it.

I myself know traveller families that are good people too but these are people who have jobs, send their kids to school and pay taxes. The march is to signify that there is racist discrimination against travellers but the fact is, people only actually have a problem with the criminal element (which there is an abundance of).

This particular march actually stemmed from groups of travellers being turned away from pubs and bars. Mostly because the pubs and bars are fed up with the constant aggro that follows.

I agree that there are good traveller folk in this country, but to hold a march in these current conditions as if they are a racially oppressed group is ridiculous. People are wary of travellers for good reason. The groups that do actually 'travel' segredate themselves from society and yet complain about being treat differently.

Anyway, its an opinion and only an opinion. If 'good' travellers feel persecuted for no reason then fine, raise the issue but marching through a town during a pandemic as if no traveller has ever done anything to warrant their reputation is just nonsense.

In your OP you stated that:
we still live in a world were you can call bull**** when you see it.
Well I'm calling bulls**t on this post. Your opener had nothing to do with the rights and wrongs of marching in these times and everything to do with travellers deserving their reputation. If this was written about any other group the thread would be removed and/or you would be barred, and the fact that admin has read this (and saw fit to comment on your grammar) and has done nothing, surprises me.

You seriously need to calm down pal.

Endlessly edging towards complete censorship (unless you are making a completely woke point that isnt controversial in any way shape or form)

Ban me if you want. Go have a cry into your cup of warm milk.

OK.

I’ll be honest I live next to an open and empty field and it’s the one thing that fills me with dread, the thought of gypsies turning up and illegally camping. Maybe I’m blinded by the news and tv shows but all I imagine is my greenhouses being broken into and worrying in fear of a break in or complete mess being left

I was chatting to a farmer the other day and he remarked he'd happily have travellers move in on land next to him. He's never had a problem with them. His current neighbour isn't a gypsy/traveller, owns a caravan and is a tw@t.

The OP may have been on a fishing trip. We left the thread open so that there could be some rebuttal.
