Tyne Tunnel fine

Just had an unpaid toll charge from xmas eve for going through Tyne tunnel. I didn’t know i had to pay online now, just thought all the barriers weren’t working. Didn’t see any signs.

Anyone got away with or just worth paying the 60 quid. Can they still fine you after 3 months??
 
Isn’t it £30 if you pay within 14 days ? Sadly you’ll have to pay unless you’re a blue badge holder.

Go online and appeal, I have and heard nothing since this was about a month back. I thought the same as you.
 
It was mentioned enough on the local news. Theyve introduced the new system to take advantage of situations like this its just so they can make more money
 
Just had EXACTLY the same today. Final notice - had to pay £101 (no previous correspondence) - We went through on the 18th Jan.

We pulled over to download the app, register our car, add funds and pay - we thought we had.

However I called the number on their site and spoke to someone, who could see that the above was correct but the car didn't seem to be registered so the fee didn't go out. She amended it, closed the fine off, and took the original £1.71 or however much it was.

Definitely do call them.

Thanks. I’ll give them a ring on Monday and say I tried to pay and it not work etc. hopefully let me off.

That’s what I get for going to geordieland

“I tried to pay” but you obviously didn’t, take it on the chin pay the fine lesson learned!!!
