Looked in there tonight and saw #RIPJKRowling trending. Turns out she's not dead, there are just thousands of people wishing her dead because she holds the somewhat controversial view that transgendered people are not really their new gender and shouldn't be treated as such. I know it's a difficult and emotive subject but a sizeable section of our society wishing the woman dead? There are an awful lot of horrible people around it seems.

I think you need to do some reading on what she thinks & maybe also check the meaning of the word controversial.

Twitter is a left echo-chamber these days - everyone is moving to Parler now - particularly people on the right

I've read what she thinks. I disagree with her. I don't join thousands of people in wishing death on her. Presumably you do?

You think Twitter with over 300 million monthly users has been taken over by "the left"?

If by that you mean that they are(belatedly) getting rid of several of the more high profile hate mongers like Hopkins I think you need to do some reading on what actually constitutes "left wing"

When do people when thinking about transgender always look at the male to female change.
It is equally challenging female to male, but their challenges are always overlooked.
A close member of my family has gone through this and I am immensely proud of how he has handled the situation from the age of 11 and his journey through the education to where he is today at the age of 21. He is more of a man than many guys that I know.

I enjoy twitter. Recently I found myself using the block button for the first time in years after I proved someone was misinformed and talking nonsense with links to evidence to put them right. I then had message after message just calling me a nonce. Just nuts really.
Even now, virologists and epidemiologists etc are being told they are wrong by halfwit David Icke fanboys.

There has to be acceptance of biology, some thing medically happen to people born with willies and others to people who are born with foo-foo’s

I lasted 2 weeks on Twitter - it seemed OK at first until I widened my subscription. People seem to revel in forming pack attack groups against those with whom they disagree.

Deleted app, just as I did with Facebook & I don't miss it.

Twitter isn't difficult to work.

If there's thing you don't like on there, then either stop looking for it, stop following those accounts (or block them), and mute the words/accounts.

I mainly use twitter to keep updated with the latest sports information. It's by far the quickest and easiest way of staying up to date with the latest developments in all sports.

If you were/are using twitter for political nonsense, then I'm afraid you'll see a lot of idiots exchanging abuse.

This isn't the issue though.

I don't wish death on JK Rowling. I just think she's a real weirdo.

She's spent the last year odd, going on twitter trying to push and promote a general phobia of trans people (or non trans people posing as trans people) violently or sexually assaulting people in public toilets.

A few months ago she wrote a blog piece that justified her fear on the basis that her ex (who wasn't trans, or posing as trans) was a domestic abuser towards her. A bunch of people on twitter (including some of the filmstars from her Harry Potter books movie adaptations) disagreed with her. They don't share her phobia, and hearing about her unrelated personal experience didn't make them fear trans people. Perfectly reasonable.

She's now releasing a fictional novel about a violent criminal who's MO is to dress in women's clothes and attack women in public toilets. So really it's just a pretty obvious way of promoting her phobia/agenda/ideology.

I just think it's all a really weird obsession for someone to get in to. She's as rich as can be. She could literally spend her time doing anything she wants. Anything you can imagine. And she's decided to spend the last however many months furiously thrashing out some novel about her strange phobia, as kind of a one-upmanship on the people disagreeing with her on twitter, cause of course they don't have book deals with some publisher ready to promote their phobias and political beliefs. It's a mad thing to do.

And then just to add to the weirdness of it all, she's wrote her book about how trans people are secretly just dressing as another gender to access public toilets for violence under a male nom de plume.

Edit: Should also mention the nom de plume she's chose is apparently a geezer who invented gay conversion therapy - brainwashing gay folks to suppress their sexuality. Again, just a weird thing to do.

Twitter is a cess pit. I think I lasted a whole day on there and deleted. There are some horrible people out there.

ditto, in fact i deleted it after a coupe of hours i think, it's the most unappealing SM platform out there, used as a soapbox for the over-opinionated

I was just making a generic point, I wasn’t defending j k Rowling point

I think there’s a wider discussion to be had. The very thought that we have male/female I think has an affect on think. I think as a society we can force people down the trans route because I’m a women and I think/act/see things like a man then I have to conform to that appearance

why can’t that person be accepted in their true physical and mental form.

obviosuly it’s not as clear cut as that and that’s why theirs a need for a wider discussion, but we as humans prevent people from being themselves. We have to conform
