Tube closures on Sunday for Fulham away

Looks like you can't get to Putney bridge station from kings cross on the district line.
There are various alternative bus options, but I think we will keep it simple and get the picadilly line to Hammersmith and walk down the Fulham palace road (half an hour or so), to craven cottage.

Per TFl..
'the District line closed between Earl's Court and Aldgate East and Embankment station will be closed, between Wednesday 4 and Thursday 12 August. On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 August the District line closure will extend to between Aldgate East/Edgware Road and Hammersmith, Kensington (Olympia) and Wimbledon. '

I do that walk often on a lunchtime. Yeah I would go to Hammertown and walk along the river.

Its about 20 minutes walk from Hammersmith Tube Station which is served by Piccadilly Line from Kings Cross. Walk along Fulham Palace Road past Charing Cross Hospital (big). It not particularly pleasant but easy. Or there is Bus 220 that runs very often from Hammersmith Bus Station down FPR. The Bus station is on top of the Tube station.

Presume you can just scan your Dr card on and off the buses like on the tube?

The 22 bus runs from Oxford circus and will drop you off at putney bridge station - takes about an hour

Also the 430 runs from south kensington and runs past the ground - takes about 45 mins

trains from waterloo or vauxhall run to putney - walk down the high street and over the bridge - about a 10 min walk

there is a phone app called citymapper that shows the various ways of getting from A to B in London

If you really get stuck with public transport then Uber and Bolt are both reasonable

Pubs you say..
Not sure we will have time, but which would you recommend?

The Rocket best wetherspoons in London if you're coming from Putney about 10 mins walk to the ground

Best ones Hammersmith way are opposite direction from ground on river although there is a new one I can't remember the name in the right direction. There's the crabtree near the ground but think they're funny about letting people in

Don't recommend a wetherspoons! we are better than that.

The temperance is good

I'm going down Saturday instead of Sunday as my train was going to cutting it fine. And Sundays are always a nightmare on the railways.

When using the buses, remember hopper prices as well. Its £1.55 to travel any distance in one journey, but also any new bus journey made within 60 minutes of first swiping in is free too. The daily limit for buses is only £4.65, so the maximum amount you ever pay is £4.65 in a day no matter how many journeys you make. You can pay with any contactless card or Oyster Card and I think they also accept some payments off phones now. The price is the same whatever the method.

I know not everyone agrees with me but I think public transport in London is cheap. Five years ago I got a bus return from Guisborough to the Boro and it was £6. It would have been £3.10 in London at today's prices.

Make sure you’ve all downloaded your “Neverspoons“ app.👍

I'm staying at Waterloo - going to the Imperial War Museum on the Monday - so the train to Putney it is for me.

Thanks for all the good advice.
