The Tories recognise that a) Sunak has zero % chance of winning the next election, and b) there is a dirth of talent in teh party to the point that repairing and wheeling out the Trussbot 4000 might be the best chance they have....which is still zero chance of winning the next election.

There are clearly people in the party that are trying to create a redemption for her, that much is clear over the weekend. This isn't just mentalist nonsense from her head, she has been platformed and supported in some areas of the right wing media, print and TV over the last few days.

If the torys keep Sunak then if there is some sort of miracle in the next year or so they may have a 0.1% chance of winning.

If they change PM again, especially to one of the previous ones (Johnson - lying corrupt vermin, Truss - delusional thick vermin) or even a new one (Reece-Mogg touted FFS) then they have -100% of winning.

She had an easy gig, all she needed to do was not be Boris and not try and implement bat shoite crazy economic policies hatched at Uni debate club 30 years previously.
She is an incompetent ideologue who brought it all on herself and was more concerned with looking the part than actually doing the job.

Would not say we are quite at the level of laissez-faire economic policy now, although the Tories are trying hard to get there (see the push to scrap all EU regulation and remove us from ECHR as proof of this), however what Truss tried to implement was exactly that. No regulation, low taxes ect ... she wanted to implement a supply side economic policy with a stripping back of workers rights; that's more of a laisse-fair policy than what the Tories tried before or after her!!!

She was treat fairly based on her ability and actions prior and during her tenure, if she had her way the middle-class would have been eroded massively and the working class would be left powerless and penniless in less than a decade! Tories want us there either way but she strapped a rocket to it and had to be stopped. How any one can sympathise with someone who nearly economically broke our country whilst trying to impoverish 80% of its citizens deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

I had a stint as a commodities broker and alternative asset researcher a lifetime ago. For my sins!! Soulless work I can only imagine people do for the money long term as after 4 years I was done, broken and took a 70 percent salary cut to leave.

Didn't do an economics degree did mechanical engineering my first undergraduate the history for my second much later. Couldn't imagine doing economics academically think itbwould havw broken me haha much respect to you.
