Got my popcorn 🍿 ready…..for the Tory (far right) party conference….

Let’s have some fun with what song 🎵 will they pipe out for her big speech walk on ?

I’m going for ; Hey! Big Spender…! 🤣
Or how about….The first (tax) cut is the deepest !

Truss is dead….after what; 4 weeks ? Just a matter of time for the latest Tory sociopath

I can't imagine any Tory member will be looking forward to or have any enthusiasm to go to the Conference, if anything the only reason to go would be to test the waters and work out the best way to plot her downfall.

Her main speech will be a car crash and I wouldn't be surprised if the auditorium was not full

I personally can’t celebrate anyones downfall when the consequences are so serious for the whole country….

But yeah you have a little party and a dance whilst people lose their homes and jobs.

Maybe get a better grip on reality ffs 🤦‍♂️

Do you really worry for Liz Truss if she loses her job? Seriously? This woman has just recklessly signed off on £45 billion of our money primarily to give to people earning over £150,000 a year, including herself, and you wonder why we want her gone?

And who is causing all this misery by the way? Grip on reality? I think sir you need to think this one through.

Her speech will have to be 100% spot on as there will now be enormous scrutiny on every single sentence. Problems she has is that her advisors are idiots like her (unable to read the room), sycophants unable to say "whoooooahhh , best not go there" and her delivery is as wooden as a Thunderbirds c*ck. Even average speeches can be made to be more rousing with a skilled orator - but this she is not.
Her big hope is that Tories who elected her are her audience, and she gets gets a standing ovation from her fan club. This gets reported in the RWM as a resounding success, and the gullible electorate read how "the country" is behind her.

What a mess.

I did read yesterday that both Sunak and Kwartang will not be attending. Kwartang said it was to give Truss all the room she needs!

To be fair I don’t think he was on about Liz Truss losing her job.. I think he meant normal people like you and me.

As much as we all want to see the end of the Tories it feels as though we will all have to suffer first.

She will u-turn on the most damaging, unfunded tax cuts Teeste. The budget, as it stands, probably doesn't make it through parliament, you would think.

Forgive me for reading it differently but he was having a go at ex footy legs for “celebrating anyones downfall” which presumably meant Truss as that was who EFL was talking about. And believe you me I want her gone and it wont get better for us all until she and her cabal do.

Just a point of order. The Thunderbirds puppets were not made out of wood. Carry on…..

KK has said the triple lock for pensioners will stay.

I think they may increase the general benefit rates at 5.5 which is set at average earnings.

The political difficulty is that they intend it would appear to only pay government workers ( of which I am one ) 2%, let’s get ready for a winter of discontent.

Sometimes I think we read too much into headlines

I don’t think there’s any savings to be made in benefits in line with the £40 billion tax cuts

It’s going to be service cuts and austerity 2.0 to compensate for all that she has borrowed and all the tax cuts she has offered

People won’t get as angry at a headline for benefit cuts (as depressing as that is) but they would if they knew their local services just got cut

They’re still going to have balance the tax/budget deficit
It is indeed a case that the triple lock will be restarted with a 10% rise in line with inflation but UC and JSA only rising with earnings not inflation so in real terms cut. Johnson promised differently.

The country has to bottom out before people start to mobilise from their apathy and ignorance. It's clear that the Johnson's corruption wasn't enough for some people, they needed something worse before they would wake up.....that was the mini-budget, accompanied by the repeated lie of telling us it's the only way out of our mess (not their mess after 12 years but our mess). People bought the ideological nonsense of austerity a decade ago....it doesn't wash now. People are waking up, getting a grip on reality, and the reality is that this shower of a party are done. That can only be a good thing, just a shame too many people took a whole decade to awake from slumber.

It won't be, in its content (it'll either be vague to avoid their mess, or ideological in doubling down on their chosen path and how we got here) or it's delivery because she has all the charisma of a house brick

It may be an interesting watch though mart. I'll be watching the highlights. I thought the Labour conference was great this year and both starmer and raynor hit the right notes. Beige starmer is not.
