Going back the end of WW1 - Germany did start collapsing from mid August 1918. Strikes were breaking out and there were street demonstrations in big cities particularly by left wings groups who wanted rid of the Kaiser and a socialist state. There were enormous food shortages because Germany was blockaded by sea. Their allies (Austria etc) were in a worse state and week by week it got worse. The Kaiser abdicated and made a run for neutral Holland. Then the Generals asked for peace and unconditional surrender. The Germans had run out of new men and starting to run out of materials.

The Spanish flu would not have helped, but it killed all sides - it took 0.5% of the UK population and 20-40 year olds were the highest casualties. The Flu peaked in the UK around November 1918. You didn't have it long though, some people died the same day as they caught it. It often caused your lungs to blister and bubble up through your skin like a rice krispies and your body was starved of oxygen. My grandad had it in the trenches and he was only ill for 48 hours, he survived it. The medical staff could not do anything for it.

Some German generals may have been prepared to surrender, but WWI ended with an armistice. Had Britain and particularly France accepted Woodrow Wilson's armistice terms then history would be different and WWII may not have happened. There were no winners of WWI.

Im Starting to see posts from brits about this now, I saw a couple of anti mask protests from a girl on FB that then basically said anyone wearing masks approved of Epstein’s fantasy peado isle that basically every famous person you’ve ever heard of has visited
 
The world is watching. At least Facebook/Twitter appear to be showing some moral backbone. Trump has appointed recently a new Post Master General I believe with no experience of the industry, what timing. He has already cut overtime and sought to get redundancies in the service just as the country heads towards an election where postal voting may be massive. This election for me is not about right or left it’s about right or wrong.

The religious South is not his only voting base. The USA isn't what you think it is from a few visits to major cities . Like all nations it has its own nuances
 
I worked in Kentucky a few years back and they HATE liberals so much that they would literally take anyone to be president as long as the incumbent was republican. Hence, why you have this mess now. Their contempt for Obama knew no bounds.

Sure totally agree, it is just we tend to meet people from east or west coast cities like new york, los angeles which are very international, liberal places. Trump's base seems to be the rural areas and inland areas. Religion in America does play a big part. I was horrified to see a t-shirt at one of Trump's rallies that read : "Guns, God and Trump". I mean I am not religious but I grew up learning about christianity and I cannot see how guns and trump could be further from christian teachings!

Believe it or not there's a big trump base in the state of New York. NYC just seems to dwarf the rest of the place.
It's going to be an interesting/scary few months. I'm not optimistic
 
Anyone see that video that was doing the rounds where, basically, Trump himself said if was ever going to run for presidency he would do it on the republican ticket. He said that republicans were so stupid that you could literally do anything and tell them anything and they would still vote for you.

And again, after working in Kentucky, Indiana and North Carolina for a while, I can only agree!

That’s the irony trump is not and never has been a replublican, as he was fund raising for the democrats a few years earlier.

he’s used them to get into office and is why there is not the Lincoln project movement starting emerge and reveal what a carpet bagger he is. As there is no republican party any more it’s just a cult if trump (and yes I did say cult ).
