Treagar BBQs

I don’t, but am in the market for one myself. Quite like the look of the ninja woodfire, but need to see one in action first.

Are you aware it’s a smoker rather than a BBQ?

As in, you put a meat on there and let it smoke for 8-12 hours. Rather than something you just throw some sausage and burgers on.

If it’s a BBQ you are after, then go with Weber.

I've got an ironwood 650 and I love it but they take ages to make things and the pellets aren't cheap, but they're very good to use and the food is class.

You can use it at higher temps so you can throw sausages and burgers on but it will use more pellets and you might as well use a gas bbq / air fryer unless it's just for a sear.

You'd more likely smoke them and then turn up the heat at the end.

The ninja Woodford is nothing and i mean nothing like a smoker. It's getting good comments, but it's basically (literally) an outdoor air fryer with a tiny pellet tray. It doesn't use many at all and it's primary heat source is the air fryer itself, with just a little bit of pellet smoke. You can cook things at a low heat but you might as well use the oven

The internal capacity is tiny as well so you can forget about it for family get togethers etc.

I love air fryers but it's a completely different beast. Traegers are automated, waterproof, remote app controllable and are all about the pellet fuel.

My mate was telling me how great they are for the caravan. I don't get why you wouldn't just take an air fryer, it still needs plugging in 😂

The Traegers are brilliant, I've had one about 6 or 7 years. You can get the temperature up high enough for standard BBQ food, but long cooks of big pieces of meat etc is what I use mine for. Full rack of St. Louis ribs cooked for 6 hours using the 3-2-1 method are absolutely superb.
If you think you'll mostly be doing quicker BBQs with some interest in smoking food etc as well then have a think about a Kamado too, more skill required but worth considering. And price dependent, I think Aldi do a decent one if you want to dip your toe without spending a huge amount

Aldi one isn't available at the moment which is unfortunate because I was thinking of getting one.
