Travelling to Spain?

If you are then be aware you need to fill an online form in. This isn’t a simple tick box you can do at the airport - it’s a five stage complicated going on which you can only finalise two days before travel. Lots of security codes emailed and texted back and forth. You can’t travel if you haven’t done it in advance.

It’s not well publicised, we picked up the link through the online check in and it wasn’t even obvious on there. Also you need to put something in every box even if it’s a zero.

im guessing there may be similar for other countries, but don’t know. Worth checking though.

Nice one Spanishman. I’m off out in the middle of July for three or four weeks, see how things look when we’re ready to come back to the UK (y)

Bit of an addition to the information - my son flew in this morning from Birmingham.

The only form he had to fill in in advance was the location information and statement that he hadn't had Covid-19, and it had to printed out as a hard copy in advance. The form was provided by Ryanair when he checked in online - there was no multi-stage processes, emailing of codes, or messages back and forth - no other communication other than that form.

At Malaga, it was a straightforward passport control, then hand the form in, then pass through a thermal camera. Met him outside 25 minutes after the plane had touched down

Edit:

Interestingly, he said there was no check at the UK end that the form had been completed and was with him - so it appears you can travel if you haven't done it !. I guess you'd get turned away at the Spanish end though

Here is a link to the form. Provided by a UK based friend: https://www.spth.gob.es/

Malaguena, the form is there, not sure what the consequences are if you travel without it, but my understanding is that from the 10th (?) it’s required. I’m travelling a few days after that and I won’t risk not having filled it in.

that said, one of the questions is what seat number you have on the plane, if you haven’t pre-booked seats how would you know before you get to the airport?? I can see chaos at the airports.....

How’s things Spanish man just heard about the new lock down in Galicia
Thanks for the concern. As Malaguena said, they are a long way from us.

There was a more minor outbreak in Adra recently. This is around 20-30 minutes drive from us. Contained now I understand.

I just need to get there, after that they can lock down whatever they want.

I suppose I could always use the Stanley J / Dominic C excuses ;)
