Travel to Prague

I am supposed to be travelling to Prague at the end of the month for a few days (via Amsterdam)

Not overly worried about Covid 19, but am getting a little anxious about being stranded in either the Czech Republic or the Netherlands if things progress while we are there.

What are other people doing with travel in the coming weeks?

KLM will allow you to rebook at a later date, but the hotel is non refundable.

Any ideas or guidance?

I am off to Mallorca cycling at around the same time. Not giving it a moments thought not going and will only not go if I am advised not to travel. That said I have a flexible job so not a big issue if I get stranded there

Going to Italy for a week on the 23rd and wasn't unduly concerned until hearing yesterday that visitors could be asked to self-quarantine for fourteen days upon their return to the UK.

I don’t think the Czech Republic has the virus yet does it?
I'm off to Prague next weekend.

They do have a small number of cases however I'm not worried in the slightest and will be going. I could catch covid 19 or any other virus at work, at the supermarket, pubetc etc so see no need to change plans as it stands.

not sure how accurate... 12 cases in the Czech Republic ...

which is no more a risk than being here.

I was due to got to Sicily tomorrow. No cases where I was going (Messina) but the 2 offices on the business side have closed, and my colleague there told me a lot of restaurants etc have closed up. She told me to cancel.

Taking a similar view on my Gran Canaria cycling holiday going 20th March. If I get stuck out there so be it.

I am more worried about getting stranded, but there is a train to Paris via Munich, then the Eurostar back to blighty if the flights are stopped.

I’m due to go to Krakow on the 23rd. I’m more worried about a travel ban than catching anything. They’ve closed Auschwitz though, which is disappointing.

Cardiff, do you transfer your bike, or hire one out there
I'm curious as two of us were thinking of doing the same

Erimus

I am staying in Puerto Pollenca and we are hiring at a shop called “Pinarello Experience”. £50 for 3 days. Fantastic bikes. Much better than taking your own bike.

Czech republic just announced a ban on travel from 15 countries for 30 days, the UK is one of those countries.

Cardiff - presume you are doing Sa Colobre? It’s a gorgeous climb but scary as **** going down
Enjoy

I have done it twice before Finny and Puig Mayor too. I’m not so fit this year mainly because of the Terrible early year weather so I’m going to give Sa Calobra a miss next week. Will do the loop up to the Monastery and down the other side. Cafe at the garage. And of course to the lighthouse at Formentor.
