Decent article in Gazette putting transfers or lack of into perspective. No need to panic we will get players in to get out squad into shape before the season starts.
the standard of new signings however is open to question. Given that we have spent millions on complete di duffers in the past then we will have to expect that some of the signings will not be up to scratch.

Like I have said in past posts because of the inactivity it is still makies up time, and there could be collusion between the club and the Gazette. But that does not detract from the fact that no club in the championship has done a great deal of business so far

You look at most clubs and they have done nothing (including the prem).

I think its more about the large amount of players available on frees. Prem clubs won't even know who to loan out for at least a month as squads taking shape etc. I look around and Stoke and Forest have raided the free agents. It seems Norwich and Brentford will spend a few quid. I don't see much else happing.

I genuinely believe we need to get one or two off the books for wages. That or cash in on a youngster.

We clearly need 'numbers' as the squads thin. That said I don't see any point bringing in players who are worse than we have. You pick up a free agent 30+ and he's on a 3 year deal. You don't want him sat around on a final payday not challanging what we already have.

I've not seen much activity where I think 'why didn't we get him?'. I think Moore would have been decent. Also maybe Lyle Taylor.

I think fans are concerned about the size of the squad and the fact that it's still short in so many areas and lop sided. Three weeks on Saturday we have to be ready to go.

The fact that we couldn't agree a fee for Goode does raise an eyebrow or two!

Hope with Goode, Boro had a valuation, they were sticking to it and were not going to be drawn into a bidding war.

Too early to panic, most Championship clubs are in a similar financial situation to us. Be more bothered if most clubs had signed 3-4-5 decent players......but that hasn't happened. Expect last couple of weeks of the window to be a bit mental.

Better than what we have - problem is in some areas we don’t have anyone, like left back, in other areas like centre back we currently only have 2 players, Fry and Hall

Unless there are youngsters ready to step up we need 2xLB, 2xCB, 1xCF, 2-3xCreative Attacking midfielder/widemen types. Time is short to season start but window open til October. I’m sure it’ll get sorted.

Every area of the pitch needs addressing and in some cases we need two players in any given position. It's a hell of long a season with a squad as bare as this, unless he thinks the kids are ready.

However, I fully expect Warnock to have the players coming in... maybe later rather than sooner but I trust him fully.

Worrying time for players and clubs alike, Mr Warnock has the advantage of experience and should get the best out of those remaining. I think he will.

I guess we must have known from sometime ago that Rudy / Clayton and Shotton wouldn't be offered a deal and moving on. So you would think we had some plan in place.

George and Ayala were offered new deals although Ayala made it clear sometime ago he wasn't up for it. It's not like we suddenly find we are 4-5 players light due to selling. We've known it's been coming.

I expected with all the frees knocking about it would be easier. The fact we couldn't agree a fee of 1mil for Goode isn't overly concerning. Just think we probably had a value and it's gone beyond that. Don't pay 1mil if you think he's worth 500k. That's paying double what you think he's worth. It's transfer business like that that's got us lumbered with players we can't move on.

I'm sure we are talking to many players. You could see 2-3 come in a week👍

Have faith in the boss . In these uncertain footy times as the game is mega transforming we couldn’t have a better boss and owner . NW knows what he’s doing and stacks of fans around the country would like to have such an old head in such times

Joe Williams 2 repeat 2 career goals. There are hundreds of players up for sale or going free. The knack is to choose the right one. Something we have been woeful at in the past. But remember even with 5 signings you will be lucky if 2 really improve what you've already got. I hope NWs famous list has a better average than that.
