Training camps for overseas teams

I wonder if overseas teams book the use of Rockliffe when Boro are in places like Austria, Portugal, etc. Quite a lot of English clubs in the top divisions go abroad during pre-season; I wonder if the likes of Bayer Leverkusen have UK training camps.

I think they will but the problem we have is that we’re not really close enough to anywhere to be a base.

Unlike in the NW or London

But we have hosted both England and Scotland.

I'd be surprised.

Pre-seasons for teams over here tend to be warm weather, where there's a market to make money, or in places where the terrain is challenging.

There's not much here that they couldn't get elsewhere.

That's challenging terrain.

We've only really got things like the Highlands and Snowdonia, the Alps are closer and better suited for most notable clubs on the continent.
