I got an excellent decorator off this board who we still use and a very good electrician who, I think, has retired now,

Very similar to yourself, I've had lads off this board who have done an excellent job for me. Bigrichard3rd did a building job for me and I was more than pleased.

I wonder what happened to him.
 
Try living in Essex mate you have to contact about 10 to get 1 to come & quote. Combination of being too busy or just not interested because the job isn't a multi million £££££ house extension your tearing your hair out at times.
 
I'll put a list on today to try and help people. These are only ones that me and my mates use. I wouldn't put anyone on here I don't think are up to it. These lads have done many jobs for people on here as well. One of the lads finished the emergency call out. And whoever it was on the board couldn't pay straight away cos they lost their bank card. So the lad arranged to come back in couple of days for payment. Everyone was happy
 
Interesting thread this, I’ve had some very good lads do jobs over the years but have also come across plenty of no shows even just to get a price, or lads that come and never bother getting back to you.

Pleased to read that it’s not just me putting them off 👍
