Hell of a stage that and I think I've ridden every inch of it over the years. Along the coast via Whitby to Robin Hoods Bay then along the Esk Valley to Stokesley (I think - map is not clear) then up Carlton Bank and Newgate Bank on the way to Duncombe Park. Fantastic.

The peloton will almost certainly be well reduced by the time they reach Carlton Bank. I would imagine there will be massive crowds there and on Newgate Bank. I'm almost tempted to come over.

True it's not long enough, but it's all relative and after what's gone before I'm pretty sure we'll get a small group going away there.

The good thing is though something like the Tour of Britain is more like an extended Classic rather than a short Grand Tour so if you want to be in with a chance it’s get stuck in not I’ll have a day off and leave it to the climbers. Can’t wait see that.

I laughed out loud when I read this one earlier. I reckon he's talking about you TLJ (you terrorist you) as I don't own anything in lycra. :giggle:

I understand how it brings revenue into the affected areas but not everyone is excited about hundreds of lycra clad terrorists and their followers riding around causing mayhem and disruption for the locals.
