Top 6

A dream now or still a real possibility?

Do you feel we have it in us to find some consistency and really be in with a shout going in to the final 6 games of the season which looks good on paper or do you think this inconsistency is going to be us now resulting in a mid tableish finish?

I am unsure myself.

Too inconsistent. Just when we look like we can put a run together we have a first half like v Bristol C. But if we can finish this season in a positive manner, around this position it will be progress and sets us up well for next year. 👍

Think I agree with that. I glad our 2 games this week are away, I actually fancy us more away.

Im sure. We build for next season and a challenge with a squad capable of putting a consistent run together to challenge. This one isn't good enough to do it. The evidence is there to see.

Having said that I get why some like to cling to a hope though until it is mathematically impossible.

A dream I'm afraid but sometimes dreams are very real.
We might as well just give it a good go, nothing to lose really.
I'd rather finish 10th but attack teams to go for the 3 points rather than be too defensive minded.
Let's play attacking football.

Yes. I would rather have a real go

I will say we will make the top 6, as commander has rightly said & others have often posted we get to the brink, fall back, regroup, get to the brink & repeat, so we know we have in us to mount another challenge, with NW there is always a chance & that is what i'm clinging to

The final runin looks good on paper but thats where we've messed up before when it looks good on paper we fail

Its the striker situation that worries me. We just don’t have anyone to consistently put the ball into the net.

Yep agree with that, though thats been an issue for a long time now & we still scored enough to force us in to the top 6 & to stay within touching distance, the defence worries me more, we seem we have to conceded first

With decent strikers we would be top six without doubt.
Britt is an embarrassment and doesn't warrant a start, shocking player and shocking attitude.
Someone mentioned playing Hall upfront, I would play him there before Brit, I honestly dont think I would give him another start, I think Hall would be more of a nusance than Brit would be

Yeah but if we had a top one we would be in the top 6. We are where we are despite our woeful strikers not because of them.

We do concede first a lot too which is always a mountain to climb. Coventry away is a good game for us tomorrow and if we are up for it we should put them to the sword. I would take 4 points from the next 2 games.

Still very much a possibility. You always get one side win 5 on the bounce. It could be us.

I'm very suprised that we have almost imploded at home. The defeats against Blackburn / Brum / Rotherham and Bristol City are bizzare at best.

Either way its a better question than 'will we stay up?' that we were asking this time last year. I just hope we can keep in the mix up until the final game or so. It would be a shame for the season to fizzle out with 5 or 6 games left finishing 14th (still better than last year).

We certainly would be in the top 6, if a top striker we would be challenging the top 2, IMHO mind

Other than Watmore I would bin the rest, Fletcher is ok, maybe a s back up, honest all day long but not for me

I like Fletcher but I think he may pick up niggly injuries now until season end, shame about he his latest. Watmore is really good but not sure Warnock sees him as a striker although I would play him there tomorrow with Britt and Akpom on bench.

It is a possibility, but you have to balance that with liklihood given how inconsitent we are. I am going to go against the grain and blame Warnock for the inconsistency, though to be fair injuries haven't helped.

We could make the top 6, fairly easily if we get our act together. So will we get our act together? Course we will. We will make the playoffs. I have said this all season, and I don't really see any reason to change my mind. We have had a clump of games recently where we have been poor. A similar clump of games where we are good would be enough to get us right back in it.

2 wins this week and we will ALL dare to dream again. Erimus, I am with you mate!

Not sure I agree with the logic but I love the optimism and we all need a bit of that. You are right 2 wins really get us back in the mix mentally more than anything aswell as the extra 6 points. Huge game tomorrow for me. They are all big at this stage at this season of course when you are fighting for something, but tomorrow feels huge. You don’t want to be going to Swansea after a defeat by Coventry.

A dream and its been a dream for a fair few weeks.

We do not score enough and as a result are far to inconsistent.

I can’t argue. It’s my exact thoughts aswell but the fan in me will always have the smallest bit of belief. But if we get beat or even draw tomorrow I think I will be in the absolutely no chance camp. It’s that big a game in my eyes.

Probably a bridge too far given our inability to go on a run, but all it takes is a few results to change the outlook.

5 points off right now, could be down to 2 after Wednesday.

Bournemouth play Pearson's Bristol City.

Obviously it could also be 8 after Wednesday, but we live in hope.
