Top 5 Albums of the Year (read the instructions 🤣🤣)

Goat
Sprints - letter to Self
Jesus and the Mary Chain - Glasgow Eyes
Porridge Radio Clouds in the Sky They Will Always Be There for Me
English Teacher - This could be Texas

and a mention to Kneecap - Fine Art not really into hip hop but this is decent

1. Bob Vylan - humble as the sun
2. Linkin park - from zero
3. Nia archives - silence is loud
4. Post Malone - f1 trillion
5. Judas Priest - invincible shield

I wanted to say Chappel roan but it came out last year first

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Wild God
James - Yummy
Ferocious Dog - Kleptocracy
Millie Manders & The Shut Up - Wake Up, Shut Up, Work
Peter Perrett - The Cleansing

Five is not enough. Left at least five really good albums off here.

Always happy when putting a playlist together.

I normally do a singles of the year playlist for myself but this year to try and get back into listening to albums a bit more I've also done my own AOTY playlist which has been really good as its stopped me from just listening to the same couple of songs off an album. If I get round to it I will stick a link on here (y)

AOTY?

Oh, and I think the most recently released album I’ve listened to was Bo Ningen’s ‘III’, released in 2014.

Sprints is a good shout too, I’ve seen them twice this year and the album is very good.

Nick Cave - Wild God
Adrienne Lenker - Bright Future
The The - Ensoulment
Jordan Rakei - The Loop
Geordie Greep - The New Sound

This is a tricky one, but here we go:

1) Public Service Broadcasting - The Last Flight
2) John Grant - The Art Of The Lie
3) Mdou Moctar - Funeral For Justice
4) Nadine Shah - Filthy Underneath
5) Hamish Hawk - A Firmer Hand

Honourable mentions to English Teacher, Richard Thompson, and Richard Hawley.

Only 25 people voted so far. Clear top 3 at the moment but can all change with a few more votes.

Quite a range of albums so far. 65 different albums picked so the playlist is going to take a bit of time to pull together but it should be a pretty broad church given some of the picks.

AOTY - Album of the year

Well once you have a neatly compiled list of the discerning tastes of the FMTTM massive you'll have no excuse to try some of this years best albums (y)

Oh yes, how did I not get that? 😂👍🏻

I’m gonna have a listen to a bit of everything mentioned on this thread. I tend to listen to the music I liked growing up (late ‘80s to mid ‘90s) so I need to try and expand my musical horizons.

Don't we all. That's why I like stuff like this as it opens your ears to other things. Really easy to just stick with what is familiar but good to try new stuff. Hope you find something you like

Damned tricky this, particularly after positions one and two.

1. Nick Cave - Wild God
2. Jack White - No Name
3. BRJ - Iechyd Da
4. MJ Lenderman - Manning Fireworks
5. Father John Misty - Mahashmashana

Honourable mentions to Welch/Rawlings, Los Campesinos, Field Music, Hawley and Decemberists :)

Michael Kiwanuka Small Changes might sneak in as a late entry.
Would also include:
Richard Hawley, In This City They Call You Love

Don't suppose it would fly if I tried to shoehorn in Bon Iver's Sable, EP would it
Only at the expense of one of the 5 above ;)

Solid picks there tho

Really enjoying the Jack White album. He's one that I need to get to see live next time he comes over here. Hears a few good things about Los Campesinos album. They passed me by first time round but might be worth a listen given that I like everything else on your list
