Tomlin & Bamford

I'm not sure about time lines. I remember the Tomlin / Bamford combo away at Derby producing a brilliant goal and winner👌

They seemed 'alright' then lol.

Enjoyed that podcast, quite fun and Paddy comes across great.

For those who haven’t listened: they’re talking about midfield enforcers and players getting the red mist with each other. Paddy tells a few stories about dressing room and training ground scraps, but punches are never thrown - except for at training at Middlesbrough, where he accidentally fouled Lee Tomlin, who kicks off, Paddy grabs him but Lee Tomlin gets off a rabbit punch before they can be separated 😁

Funny how he introduces Tomlin as one of the best footballers he has ever played with ability-wise, but lists his clubs and infers that he wasn’t that professional.

We probably got the best football out of him in his entire career and he was a joy to watch in a largely functional team. Came in at the right time and probably left at the right time before he would have inevitably become disillusioned with the manager’s approach and started getting sent off/spitting his dummy out over being benched
