CBGBs original group paved the way for Kristalls booking Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads... Marquee Moon 12" is up there with the best vinyl records I play ( bought it at Whitby last year after I sold my pressing few years ago)

Marquee Moon is probably my favourite ever record. Came to it pretty late but wish I could bottle that feeling the first time I heard it. It's flawless. Almost everything that followed them makes so much more sense once you've listened to it.
Finally got round to seeing them at the Roundhouse a few years back with Johnny Rip on guitar. Had heard a few mixed reviews but they absolutely blew me away. So tight, cool and effortless. It was like performance art at times, seeing four people create such simultaneously beautiful and complex melodies.

This is the 12" single long 10 min version of Marquee Moon ( A side is stereo and b side is Mono) ... only buy VG+ vinyl condition or better ... the cover is only a black die cut sleeve so really not worry about the grade... Some nice prices here ...

Television were one of the GREAT bands, and today’s news is incredibly sad. Tom Verlaine was an extraordinary light and his loss is huge. All 3 Television albums are fantastic, but Marquee Moon is a bona fide 5 star classic and hugely influential.
His many solo albums are great too; Flash Light being up there with the very best of Television.
I saw the band many times with, and later without, Richard Lloyd, and they were always extraordinary, with the well-known songs interspersed with 10-15 minute jams taking you places that it’s hard to describe - spacey, jazzy, oriental, but all held together with that unique and edgy Fender interplay. Fantastic rhythm section too.
Totally original, as cool as, and exhilarating. God bless Tom Verlaine.
