I think it's a brilliant choice. I think he is fantastic. The sort of fella who has so much screen presence he could open a bag of crisps and make it worth watching.

My only worry with Tom Hardy is the mumbling. He's done some great stuff over the years though and was able to carry the Mad Max role off without any problems.
The issue with a BAME and/or female Bond is how much they'd have to change the character. And then it becomes pointless in terms of it being Bond.
It's also lazy in terms of creativity - something Bond is already guilty of (Blofeld in the last one ffs).
Expanding the world might work but they tried that with Bourne to limited success.
They also had plans for a female Bond character with Angelina Jolie in Salt and a few attempts with Modesty Blaise.

They could do a BAME or female Bond but they shouldn’t do it just to be inclusive. I’d be far happier with a spin off following another agent. They could introduce a them in a Bond film as a screen test and to build some familiarity with the audience. It wouldn’t be that difficult to make it work and could give them another successful franchise.

I believe the 007 in the new film is a black female? I dont know how much of a role she has but she's in all the trailors (so not a spoiler....well unless you've not been on the Internet in the last year).
