Agreed. I said the same. I thought he was quick to book Ayling but other than that he was good.Thought he did well let the game go and nothing too mad and didn’t fall for their time wasting.
One of the better ones
A few offsides looked marginal mind
Come on now. What can the ref do apart from book him for deliberate hand ball???If anything, I thought the ref favoured us. Some crazy decisions against Sorinola in particular, and there was no need to book the lad who caught the ball which was going out.
He accidentally caught it with 2 hands above his headCome on now. What can the ref do apart from book him for deliberate hand ball???
In this case there was absolutely no intention to gain an advantage from it, so why the booking?Come on now. What can the ref do apart from book him for deliberate hand ball???
what was going through his mind is immaterial. He was in play. Deliberately hand balled it. Bizarrely. To no advantage to himself. But he still did it. He didn’t protest. In this case there was absolutely no intention to gain an advantage from it, so why the booking?
ALL handballs given, by their definition, are deliberate. Is any handball an automatic booking? If so, I stand corrected.
Handball is cautionable if:what was going through his mind is immaterial. He was in play. Deliberately hand balled it. Bizarrely. To no advantage to himself. But he still did it. He didn’t protest.
Good point. I’d have sent himHandball is cautionable if:
A player:
- handles the ball to interfere with or stop a promising attack
- handles the ball in an attempt to score a goal (whether or not the attempt is successful) or in an unsuccessful attempt to prevent a goal

We wouldn’t have scored if we’d still been playing tomorrow morning man, thank God, we’re not.Even though I'm glad we didn't have to sit through anymore not sure there should only have been 5 mins added on at the end. Their players spent most of the second half taking turns to sit on the floor
I don't disagreeWe wouldn’t have scored if we’d still been playing tomorrow morning man, thank God, we’re not.
I agree, but that is the rule, a deliberate handball is a booking. I guess you could argue it was accidental as he thought the ball had already gone out. If a keeper accidentally handles the ball, thinking he is inside his box, when he is outside, same yellow card is given. If anything, I thought the ref favoured us. Some crazy decisions against Sorinola in particular, and there was no need to book the lad who caught the ball which was going out.
Every need as that’s what they are told to do. There was a manager booked last week for kicking the ball when still in play. Forgot who it was.If anything, I thought the ref favoured us. Some crazy decisions against Sorinola in particular, and there was no need to book the lad who caught the ball which was going out.
