Tinnitus

I get it now and again for a few seconds, then goes again.
No reason for the flare up, but I am now very mindful about working in noisy environments because of the damage obviously done to my hearing.

I've been using white noise when in bed on a night - not ideal for the wife who doesn't have tinnitus but it helps drown out the whirring.

Had tinnitus approximately 3-4 years, I believe I got it from years of working in commercial kitchens with loud/broken extractors and exhaust systems.

You can get ear plugs that create a counter response frequency to your tinnitus, not just white noise, bespoke attuned to your tinnitus, on the NHS, I had them for a while. As per my post above after 30 year I'm happy to ignore my tinnitus as no threat and this for me , is the only way forward with any sufferer, you are tuned to react to noise as a threat, so you are conscious of it until you or your brain learns there is nothing to worry about, your brain then filters the sound out and you become oblivious to it unless reminded.
