Message from Cleveland Police re Yarm Fair

Dear Mr Mudd ,
Cleveland Police has asked us to make all parents/carers aware of the following information:
Cleveland Police have received information suggesting a significant threat of serious violence which will be carried out at Yarm Fair. Some of these threats mention the use of weapons, in which has been termed 'gang wars'. Cleveland Police have confirmed there will be an increased police presence, alongside council enforcement officers.
Kind Regards,

yeah i've just had the same from my child's school too. bit unnerving for anyone wanting to visit.

Happens when the fair is in Northallerton, Stokesley and Yarm regardless - rival schools/gangs with their mates.

Retraction of previous message regarding Yarm fair

Dear ................
We have been informed that the information that was sent out earlier this afternoon via Parentmail from Cleveland Police is not correct.
This information has been circulated to schools from an unknown source and has not been circulated by Cleveland Police.
We apologise for any concern caused by the email but we were distributing what we believed to be accurate safeguarding information.
Kind Regards,

Happens every year, involving 2 sets of school kids.

Used to meet up, kick ten tons out of one another and go our separate directions. However, I dare say nowadays the threat of serious injury or fatal occurrences is much higher due to knife crime.

It has echoes of the dog poisoning reports in Albert Park that lead to the police having to put out a message that no such crimes were being investigated.
