Thoughts on X / Twitter?

He’s ruined it, from the sh*te nonsensical rebrand, treatment of staff, to the way the actual site runs now. Garbage.

X is a sh*thole, literally a sh*thole. I was never prolific but stopped posting on it around 18 months before it effectively died when it became X
Musk deserves to lose all he put into it and all because of his ego.

It’s always been the worst of the popular social media sites for spambots and trolls but it’s got even worse since Musk took over. I really like the community notes feature though. It’s usually very quick to call out lies by politicians.

Ive stopped using it my feed just turned into a rancid right wing cess pit of hate and vitriol.
Its just knuckle dragging racist morons trying to convince everyone that we should kick out every muslim in the UK and bozo is the greatest PM who ever lived that was unfairly removed because he looked at a cake they also want that boll**k faced foghorn of ignorance Farage to be the next PM.

What are your collective thoughts on X now?

I am a big fan of Musk, but since he took it over it's changed for the worse in my opinion.

In the last couple of days I've clicked on a video of a man being impaled to death on a bollard, and last night I watched a woman being stabbed to death after cheating on her husband. I felt sick after seeing both of them.

I'm sure this kind of stuff wasn't ever circulated on there.
Why?

Deleted my account and set up a new one only following about 20-30 mainly football related accounts as I was fed up reading all the political ***** from the right and the left. And all the supposed Boro super fan accounts

It didn’t work.

This last few weeks I’ve noticed my feed is full of even more right wing nutters than usual.

Cesspit of a website

It's by design since Musk took over. Best avoided now I reckon.

Shyte. Firstly it's gotten so you can't view anything without an account. I used to go on there happily without signing in just to look at Boro, transfer rumours etc. Now you can't even do that without an account.

Then when you create one, even if you don't follow anybody there's ads all over, sponsored videos etc. Usually the most inane you can imagine, fights and gore etc. Not to be taken seriously any more, but unfortunately our lazy journalists and political class still use it. An echo chamber of short attention spans.

Lists are the way to go. It's like shoving it through a water purifier...

I really dislike it in its current form and hardly use it these days but one thing it is great for is offending the right sort of people.

There are so many bigots and racists on there.

Cess pit, Elon Musk's snowflake personality, bad business practices and pandering to the alt-right has destroyed the platform.

I hope it goes bust and he loses his backside on it.

He is an odious man.

I just see a load of shtty ads now for onlyfan girls or whenever i read a tweet the replies are just people advertising crap like betting groups ect

Still use it for sports news, it’s the quickest way to get information but it has gone down noticeably since he took over.

Loads more bots, loads more ads, loads more of all that’s bad with Twitter (still Twitter on my phone, refuse to update to X)

The only thing I missed when I gave up on Twitter was Boro posting the team sheet an hour before kick off. I have found that Boro now post it on Threads so I use that. It seems to be slightly better policed than Twitter is, though my profile seems to attract "ladies of negotiable virtue". Not sure why as I never post on it and only follow Boro and a couple of other things. 🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately most accounts are bots, created by the companies themselves or political campaigners. It's a self-fulfilling creator of toxic debate.
