This spiking trend

What a disgusting indictment of modern society: people unable to go for a drink for fear of some tw.at poisoning them so that they can be sexually assaulted.

These people are predators but proving what they've done must be almost impossible.
Someone in the welly has been arrested on Saturday but its happening everywhere.

It is sickening.

If you need to resort to spiking somebody to satisfy your sick cravings for affection on a night out and you are caught you should be treated the same way as a sexual predator. A lifetime registering on the sex offenders register, hefty jail time and financially compensate their victim.

I fear for my two little girls when they grow up, hopefully myself and the wife will educate then sufficiently. I also fear for myself should the worst ever happen.

Just makes you wonder what he has been up to prior to this. If he was a teenager then I could understand him being a bit warped but this 41 year old must have history.
Yeah exactly, I find it hard to believe he has just started doing this at the age of 41, there will be some history there, what a warped individual, warped and dangerous, needs to be off the streets.

If you know or hear about someone in your extended circle of "friends" or acquaintances that gets up to this 5hit, then you need to do two things.

Firstly (edited by admin for advocating macho violence) and secondly, inform the authorities where you have left them in a bloody heap so that they can deal with them accordingly.

There is no place in society for these people or the people who know about them and chose to do nothing about it. There is no way these people are doing this without other people knowing about it.

It does seem to be on the increase, but just to offer some balance I know a lot of research was carried out by Sheffield University which found that many victims who claimed to have been spiked, were in fact just very drunk.

It was over 10 years ago to be fair, but the point probably still remains valid.

I've quite a few friends who manage and/ or run bars and I haven't heard that many actual proven occurrences of spiking happening.

That said, about 10 years I did spot a man quite obviously pouring a powder into a girls drink whilst she was dancing (she had left her drink unattended). I had obviously been in the drink as I went over and poured the drink on the floor and confronted the fella who had slinked off. As you would expect, the girl and her mates were less than impressed with me until I told them what I had seen and pointed out the bloke. Doormen come over, the bloke goes as white as a sheet (he didn't even try to deny it and it would have been pointless with the amount of CCTV in the venue) and he was 'forcefully ejected'.

Shortly after all the lights went on in and the bar manger said over the pa that all drinks were to be replaced at no charge (I would guess there were 100+ patrons in there at the time). This was in an alternative music venue in the South West.

In the days that followed, I kept my eyes peeled for the spiker, but never saw him ever again in any of the local pubs/ bars/ clubs. The next time I went to back the venue in question I spoke to the security about the incident and I was surprised to hear that the fella unfortunately 'fell down the stairs' whilst being ejected. I was surprised to hear this as the venue was spread over a single floor :)

Well done weemoby,

God Daughter has just started uni, out with her flat mate who was spiked with a needle, it’s being dealt with by the police and suspected to have been heroin.

Just awful, my GD has already missed so much due to lockdown etc, it’s not fair that now she is scared to go out.

It’s utterly abhorrent.

Any offences of this nature where someone is found guilty should receive a mandatory life sentence - rape, sex abuse, child abuse, drink spiking, or intent to commit any of them. I’m usually for rehabilitation of offenders however in these cases exceptions should be made - there is absolutely no rational excuse for anyone to commit those type of offences.

As I said earlier, these crimes must be nigh on impossible to prove unless they're actually caught in the act.
For me, it is a massively serious crime that should be taken as ABH or GBH. Actually, conspiracy is a major part, too.
I think if it is proven then a mandatory sentence should be passed like 6 years.

This should go down as attempted rape, as we all know this is where it would have been heading. I just looked it up and spiking someone's drink has a maximum punishment of 10 years. I wonder how many get that, and serve it, not many I bet. Scum!
