This proposed corona proximity alert app

Whist in principle I think this could be an effective tool, how do you mitigate the daft árse who decides to flag themself as symptomatic 'for a laugh', it would be a costly wild goose chase if someone were to engage in that sort of behaviour
That's a good point actually and it made me think the same about potential hypochondriacs who'd put any symptoms down as a sign of having the virus regardless. You need testing.

Agreed, the contact tracing of everyone connected to some daft lad who falsely flags up for a bit of attention would be really damaging to already stretched resources

You could potentially be putting yourself at some risk, for example, a few daft lads are walking along a track and one of their phones is triggered Incorrectly, as you, on your own walking your dog, pass by.

AF - People would need a NHS verification code to allow them to post their medical status. When you post it the phones of people who have been near you will send an alert to their owners to tell them to self isolate. Those owners will not know who is infected, but that someone is who was near them in the last so many days.

If people refuse to use their phone or ignore or don't have a smart phone they will be chipped. like pet dogs are.

I made that last line up!

Well the phone would be linked to that person's full name and address for starters.

I'm not on about it taking resource to find out who the person who falsely flags was, that's obvious to trace, I was on about the contact tracing which would ensue, but redwurzel has enlightened me on how it works
