How embarrassing. Poor Pistorius being associated with the ToriesOliver Pistorius who was in the same race in 2012 as JP has declined to comment.
A vomit inducing marketing style video. I suppose we are going to get the others this week. Watch out for Braverman’s particularly. I dont know how well she is going to “package up” her particular political views based on hate fear and prejudice.
This is absolutely spot on. It will barely affect the election because the electorate are, in the first instance other Tory MPs and, in the second, the 200,000 or so Conservative members who are, in the main, even more right wing than most of the candidates and, in the main, even older than I am. But it's important for the public to see all this. The biggest issue with stuff like this is that no news programmes cut through it by simply reading out the voting record of each candidate. It's really easy to go and find what they really think, what they support and what they vote for. Instead of that, what we'll have this week and for the foreseeable is the constant chatter and tittle tattle, the opinions of political commentators masquerading as fact and a blurring of the lines and PR guff and spin and manipulation. And all out propaganda.
Just have news presenters reading out their voting records. Show the lies and ask them why they're now campaigning against things they were supporting as recently as last week and have voted in favour of over however many years. Piece of p*ss.
They have a perfect get out line - they were only following orders. Tory whips told them to, threatened them. That will be enough to satisfy the rabid right wing Tories. And they currently are the only ones that matter. The biggest issue with stuff like this is that no news programmes cut through it by simply reading out the voting record of each candidate. I agree but they still need to be put on the spot and asked to explain themselves. They can parrot the party line if they want to but should at least be asked the questions in a serious manner and challenged when and where appropriate. Then the public/viewer can decide for themselves, based on facts and evidence and voting records. Can I really trust this person? They have a perfect get out line - they were only following orders. Anyway, that was all last week......you lost we won, move on, get Britain rich etc etc etc.

The point is that that very rarely happens and they just slip through, ensuring it's more of the same and that the standard becomes even lower. It has to be opened up and at least debated properly.
