This is a very hard thread to write

Has anyone ever had a CT scan? I had one this afternoon. I thought it was finished but quickly realised it was just starting as my throat went warm and then my middle… and then I literally thought I’d shat myself as the warmth moved across my lower torso for a few seconds. There was genuine panic I’d have to be cleaned and changed.
:) I've had a few around 8 over the last 6 years, the Angiogram was the longest time taken. I had one recently 3 weeks ago, to monitor my cancer recovery at Hartlepool general. (got the thumbs up again from Lung Health on Friday gone)

1 min. Got there handed letter to reception asked to sit down.
2 min Went to sit down but name was called.
3 min Taken to side room had cannular fitted on hand.
Min 8 told to lay on CT bed
Min 12 CT started
Min 15 Radioactive dye starts.
Min 20 Finished.

Min 25 Back in the car and off home.

Hows that for service? I commented on it and they said if your early at Hartlepool GH they pull all the appointment times forward.
Job and knock if they can.🚀

I had my ct scan and my masectomy at Hartlepool and I have to say they were excellent on both occassions

But I’m lying in hospital having been told that I’ve had at least one heart attack in the past couple of weeks. I’ve been having what I thought was panic attacks most of this year, which seemed to come to a head a couple of weeks ago. I had a really bad one but would never have thought it was a heart attack.

I had another one on Friday. I knew something bad was happening because the sharp, intense and burning pain in my chest was like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I decided to take aspirin and Gaviscon and then rest. But I can’t walk for even a minute without feeling breathless.

I called 111 today and saw a doctor and they sent me here. Lewisham Hospital A&E. I’ve just had an injection in my stomach to thin my blood. And then this week it’s an angiogram.

A heart attack at 41. Absolutely mad.
That’s unlucky Viv, sincerely hope you feel much better soon, you’re in the best place, with the professionals, it’s truly amazing what they can do.

They should have warned you about that. Anyway, I hope you're on the road to recovery.

Wow ViV that is a shock……..I’d never have guessed in a million years you were only 41.😉
Seriously, I hope and I’m sure all will go well and in a few months time you’ll be right as rain.

Of course you do realise what you’ve gone and done now……everyone on here over 35 is now having anxiety attacks, in a few weeks time James Cook A&E will be like an FMTTM “works do”!

Which health trust does Lewisham come under viv? My mate had stents put in there recently and said they were really good .
Being in north east London I was under Bart’s and in royal London and Whipps cross. The latter was an absolute nightmare, royal London brilliant

I’m thinking it’s Lewisham and Greenwich. I had news of my echocardiogram today and they said they found no damage to my heart, so that’s reassuring. But the angiogram will show them what needs to be done. Lots of people are saying I’ll have a stent but until they tell you you just don’t know and I don’t want to focus on one thing and then get blindsided by it being something else.

I would say the injections and the medication are taking their toll a bit now, I’m feeling fragile and very tired. But the nurses here are great. It’s not so bad, I’m watching Curb Your Enthusiasm and I’ve had my other half and her mam here all day. I’m lucky I’ve got all of this support on tap. The food though. Blimey. That’s the only thing I could grumble about tbh. It’s BAD. It feels like it would actually take more effort to produce food this bad rather than just doing decent stuff properly.

When I've been in Lewisham hospital I've found it best to order from the Caribbean or Indian menus. Check if they still offer it. Or if you want a Greggsdish bringing in leave me a message and I'll pop down with one. Not in a creepy way, rather just that I live not far away.

Apologies for not having read all of this thread but what I can't understand is why Dr's don't prescribe blood thinners as a matter of course for blokes 40+?
I had a stroke aged 55, was prescribed blood thinners (and others) and I still here at 72.

I finished Curb Your Enthusiasm yesterday. And, as far as finales go, this one is pretty good. Pretty, pretty good.

Keep on keeping on. 👊🏻
