This god damn weather

Schools stop for the summer months in July and August here in Northern Ireland as well.

Makes no difference. The sun normally shines here in June, it rains all July and August and then Mr Sunshine reappears in September when the kids are back.
Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I thought it rained all year in NI. :)

Grim isn’t it.

Totally changes the dynamic now as well. Tactics largely go out the window in games like this.

Was talking about this the other day.

Always seem to remember as a kid never being indoors when on the school summer holidays.

I don`t think there`s been more than 1 dry day in a row so far since the kids broke up, parents and kids must be pulling their hair out

In my memory every day on school summer holidays was dry and sunny.
Can't have been true though.

I think it was the Norwich game towards the end of last season. Puddles on the pitch everywhere. The rain today is much worse 🤔

We played Benfica in a pre-season friendly in the early 1970s with Eusebio playing, at Ayresome Park, it seemed to rain for 12 hours solid that day - I was a soaked little rat.

I remember in the late 1980s it raining every day for 2 weeks in August when the Whitby Folk Festival was on. Poor participants were camped in tents in a field near the River Esk and the filed became flooded.

August can be a bit of mixed month in the UK, its not always dry.

It was like this for the Norwich game and that was on ok - a mates just text me who’s coming from just outside Northallerton and he says it’s sunny there 😁
