Willie Maddren brought Mitch Cook from Darlington only 24 hours earlier & handed him the No12 shirt, this day the 14th September at home to Norwich City, Mitch Cook replaced Gary Gill in the second half
Mitch Cook, registered No574 when he replaced Gary Gill
Mitch went on to make 6 appearences for the mighty Boro, 3 as sub & 3 started, 2 of those starts he was subbed himself

Gary Rowell, another excellent signing from Willie Maddren, scored his 2nd Boro goal & probably, one of the quickest of his career, when converting a 38 second penalty, Norwich hit back to level the score & thats how it remained

Mitch Cook's very first touch for us was a free-kick which he sliced into the north stand, then it all went downhill from there!
Five grand & Alan Roberts we parted company with for that excuse of a footballer.

All I can recall about Mitch Cook was that he appeared on the pitch in a Boro shirt a few times but I can't remember him ever touching the ball. Or doing anything else for that matter. Maybe I missed his excellent work off the ball, as the modern pundits might say, but somehow............

No I don't think so, when you think 6 games, 3 starts & subbed in 2 of those, the harpest eyed fans woukd be struggling to remember anything of note

The other reason I remember him, with his blonde hair was for the fact we continued to struggle badly & continue to fall & we were buying players from Darlington, who were on a rise themselves, totally opposite to us
