When they came to Ayresome Park for a 1st divsion fixture, a brace from Alex McCrae taking his remarkable tally of the season to date to 19, a brace Wilf Mannion with his 8th & 9th goal of the season & a goals apiece from Robert Walker, scoring his 5th of the campaign, Ian Donaldson opening his Boro account on his 3rd appearence & Crocker scoring an OG

The 7 goals wasnt Boro's highest that season, we put 8 past Huddersfield earlier in the season

Great years, Welfare State and NHS established, fantastic crowds being entertained by attacking football. Heading towards full employment, full l cinemas, dance halls and public houses.

Attendance, 34,050, which was amazingly our 3rd lowest of the season, wow

Not sure if people are aware of this but we were top of the league in 1951 with only 8 games to go. We failed to win any of the following eight and finished sixth! If only!!
