This billionaires home

On tv straight after grand designs is incredible. How the other half live.

great house.

She always had a rule never to have greater than a ten year age gap in a partner (the difference is 30 years), nor a man who was divorced and with children.
I wonder if his billions helped bridge that gap!

Would have chosen that house on grand designs tonight over that
Beauty of a build I thought. Although the wife irritated me a lot. The fella had poured his heart and soul into it which was plain to see and it seemed like she was taking the plaudits for living in a caravan.😂

kevin came across as a right d*ck over the house though. he only changed his mind after she had told him off. he must have watched that footage and though "oh i've gone too far"

I wasn’t that keen on the grand designs house , situated in the corner of the road with no real garden to speak of (as yet) it also felt too narrow. As a taller guy when I saw that bath tub squeezed between the beams in the roof that was the final straw fir me. I appreciate what they did and the significance to the locals , just personally not one of the better grand designs.

the billionaires gone once complete I thought the entrance hall was stunning but the guys bad taste let him down. The glass dance floor and lava wall installation will grow dated really quickly - luckily for him he has the money to change it as soon as he wants. Each to their own though - very interesting to see how the other half live.

I can feel a Mrs. Merton question coming on here!

I understand he's a self-made billionaire and all credit to him for achieving that but the opulence was way over the top. Interesting to think that a few hundred yards from the house in Mayfair were probably loads of people who are homeless or don't have two pennies to rub together. I like to think that if I was a billionaire I wouldn't send £87million doing it up but would spend much of it on good works for people less fortunate than me. Hey, maybe he does, I don't know.

And to cap it all he throws a charity bash for those in need.

it was a pigs dinner of an house, the price of everything and the value of nothing.

chavtastic and that cant change just because your bank balance changes.

blokes a grade A t!t.
What I couldn’t understand was the whole charity thing. Him and the people turning up looked as though they only care about themselves. Is there great tax benefits from this sort of thing? Could he be making money from it?

If he wanted to give to charity then just take the 68mil he spent on the house and use some of that rather than waste it on cringe decor.

If you've ever seen these charity events, it's simply an excuse to flaunt your wealth.

They'll have an auction, and people will bid ridiculous amounts to play Tennis with Boris Johnson, or for a signed England rugby shirt etc.

That way they can donate to charity whilst also showing everyone else how rich they are.

As charity event the cost to him can be written off as expenses and is also tax deductible I believe, he can do a bit of free networking and entertaining whilst appearing to be one of the good guys, some of these events cost thousands to put on and raise hundreds for charity, which seems a bit the wrong way round to me.

Yes but I just wondered whether it is really down to the goodness of their hearts or whether it is some form of tax avoidance or if they make money from the events some other way? I could be wrong but he didn’t seem the type of guy to have anyone other than his own interests at heart.
