I was just about to post that I couldn't believe that this thread had reached two pages without anyone mentioning the greatest theme to the greatest TV show of all time but then you did it for me:

Easily the winner for me .. I hadn't checked the thread mate and thought surely someone had mentioned Twin Peaks before I did ...

TV has improved these days but its themes have not kept up. Breaking Bad, all them lot ... in comparison to Twin Peaks, their themes are rubbish.

Also, I'm not sure how many on here watched Twin Peaks' third season, but people who did will know what I am on about

Later in the season towards the finale, when Agent Cooper 'awakens' and the music starts playing - sent chills down my spine. Can't think of another show that has ever done that.

Not just the theme tune, has there ever been a better use of full songs in a TV show to supplement the storyline? The Who, Dire Straits and Phil Collins to name but a few. Perfectly interweaved with the story line. Wouldn't happen nowadays.
