* The Unofficial "Official" Middlesbrough v Blackburn Rovers [11/24] Match-Day thread *

That was atrocious.

It shows - yet again - that Carrick has no plan B, doesn't know how to use subs, that the squad is nowhere near as good as people think, that a team that sits deep and is organized will probably beat Boro and that Luton, Oxford and QPR are relegation material.
Tbf logically they should all beat us despite us dominating if they're relegation material though? It's the Boro way, whilst we turn over the boys in the autos.

Barlaser played a very similar one to Conway in the first half, Conway went down and called for a penalty.

He also played a superb ball over the top to Conway in the channel that Conway wasted.

Barlaser didn't have a good game, but was also not the problem
I didn’t say he was the problem I said he can’t dictate the play..

Is that the first game all season we didn't have the better chances (almost half their xG - although most of that was their offside goal)?

Maybe? I would like to see him be more positive with the ball.. young players lose their way sometimes.
Definetly. I'm yet to see anything to really get excited by although he did have an ok performance vs Watford. Hopefully more game time elsewhere will him some. I reckon these conversations are ongoing

The Tommy Conway/Latte Lath duo did not work and it never did at the beginning of the season either. Our system relies on a quality No 10 and we didn’t have one tonight
I feel playing LL and Conway plays into the Centre Half's hands and makes their job easier. They tend to make the same runs and at times take each others space or drag another defender over instead of away from play.

Hugely disappointing result, but not the end of the world or the end of our season.
We never really got up a head of steam and then once we went behind we couldn't step up a gear. I'd like to see us go at teams from the first whistle just to set the tempo as I think it'd help us prevent the opposition from settling down and establishing a foothold in the game.

Their goal looked offside.. looked like a foul on McGree.. the one he got a yellow card for and ended up being subbed off through injury for.

Hamilton is more of a midfielder than a winger for me.. would have had Conway on the wing and Hamilton through the middle.

Conway and Latte take up the same positions for me.. looks like they get under each others feet.

Positives? Doak has a cracking shot, Edmunson went on a great run, Barlaser looked really good. Borges had a good game too.

Nice to see Gilbert and Forss back in the mix.. a few nice touches from Gilbert.. a little bit too late and still needs game time. Forss still seems a way off.. playing as a striker? Dijksteel was canny too.

b***r eh.

Dieng giving the lurgee to Azaz and Burgzorg took the wind out of our sails.. but the poor officials decided the game for me tonight.
