* The unofficial "Official" Boro v Mansfield Town FA Cup 3rd Round Matchday Thread and Programme *

Very poor 2nd half. Thought Wilder's in-game management was poor to be honest. Should have brought Jones on for Gibson and Malley for Howson, then moved McNair into the DM role. At least Malley would have put himself about and would have been another player with a point to prove.

Remarkable performance given the week we've had.
Give the lads credit. Had to dig in second half and got the rub of the green a couple of times, but all that matters is that your in the bag for the next round. Well done

It's interesting that our entire midfield goes missing, the defence are all over the place and the takeaway is its the keepers fault.

Winner winner chicken dinner
horrific conditions for a keeper today, driving rain, strong wind, mud bath of a pitch and after effects of covid. You can't take todays performances individually as much of an indication of anything.

And the strikers miss chance after chance after chance but it's the goalie's fault. You eliminate the weaknesses first, which is the goals for column.

Boro could spend a fortune on a great goalie but it won't make much difference for as long as strikers don't score.

The game should have been done and dusted by half time but it turned into a grandstand finish because of missed chances.

Undeserved but we'll take it.
Disagree but there you go. In the first half we should have been out of sight. We were fielding a makeshift team who hadn't played together before with possible weakness from a club ravaged with a virus against a very useful Mansfield who put Sunderland out away from home last time out. Guts and spirit saw us through.

Well done the underdogs :sneaky:

Feels like lots in here have never seen an FA Cup tie against lower league opposition before.

A “classic” FA cup match really played in dreadful conditions. Could have been 5 or 6 each.

Like people have said we don’t know how many of the lads who played were affected by covid and lack of training.

We are in the next round and no extra time. I’m happy with that.
