* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Leeds Match - Day Thread *

Crazy game.. always going to be up against it today. They’re formidable at home and we’re patchy away. Silly mistakes cost us in the end but had enough chances to take something from it.
Could have been a lot worse score wise. Failed to take our chances as we always seem to but keeping the score at 3-2 is commendable.

Injuries and suspensions probably the worst part of the result today. No disgrace losing to a good Leeds team but we are desperately thin for players now.

Last 20 minutes was a hard watch trying to survive and we did ok to be fair.

Tough game next week.

If only we had a really great defender to get a grip of that defence and sort them out on the training ground like Karanka and Venables managed to do back in the day

No matter what.
We`re going to have to work with what we`ve got.
With injuries, bans and suspension`s we`re down to the bare bones.
Mmmmmm

I'm not too disheartened by that, we have a full team out injured pretty much.

We could have snatched a point.

Bit of a challenge at RB next week, maybe crooks drops to play alongside Barlaser and howson goes to RB if Mcnair not fit, if mcnair fit then RVDB can go RB.

Great game for the neutrals but my takeaway. Latte Lath is wierd 😂 an enigma. The defending was very bad. Barlaser doesn’t cut it for me. His stupidity cost us the first goal. He needed to thump it. 9 goals conceded in 3 away. Carrick must somehow look at changing away from home as we are not the team from last year. Roger’s also a long way off in the top 6 realm. He looks like he is running through treacle against top opposition. Saying that, in context, Carrick has key players missing and the back up are mid table players.

We took too many risks at the back early on and we paid the price for it. Live and learn maybe but our away performances are not improving.

Think some of you are being overly harsh. See how make shift that back 4 was for the majority of the game? Clarke did really well apart from his initial contribution. Dieng some huge saves. You don’t get harder than Leeds away. It’s a tough, tough place to try and win. Somerville is in a league of his own.

To not concede second half is a big plus for me especially down to ten.

I’m more concerned about the line up next week. A very tough game too.

UTB.

Pleased for Latte Lath. Will do him the world of good. Hope Hackney and Fry are back next week. We need them.

I actually thought that was a good performance away at a good team - we actually came closest to another goal.

Annoyed that we made errors early - but actually felt the defence played well second half especially when down to ten men.

As I said earlier - our best and worst moments came from playing football at the back.

If you compare us with 10 men to Sunderland against us with 10 men - I think we played that period well.

we should be commended for that performance, not ridiculed. Half the first team missing and playing a fair portion of the seocnd half wit hten men against the best home side in the division. Lets keep oir view balanced.

roofie, the algorithm was right again, unfortunately.

Barlaser was the heartbeat of the team for most of the game. Dictated things I thought. Stupid mistake but thought he did well

Used to look okay against pacey wingers, Dijksteel. Unfortunately he hasn’t had much game time and looks more clumsy with the ball at his feet than ever under Leeds press.

Summerville is absolutely rapid mind and a very good player at this level.

Slim pickings squad wise today and it’ll be worse still next.

If we don’t find a way to rally and force points during a tricky period we risk making the playoff charge a very tough one whereas a few decent results and some good signings would’ve set us up nicely.

Disappointed at all three goals. At the ref.

Glad that when we move the ball we still look very dangerous.

That’s a lot better than when I used to watch games under Pulis and wonder why I’d wasted my Saturday night.
