* The unofficial "Official" Boro v Hull Match-Day Thread *

To be fair to Lumley, his sight was blocked and wouldn't have seen it until it was pretty much going past him. We know he's not a top Championship or Premier League keeper. But many keepers would have been caught out by that.

Realistically we should have been so far in front at that point that their goal shouldn't have mattered.

Just have to disagree, that really was a routine save for a professional goalkeeper.

It will be very difficult to pick him after that for the next match.

Sorry, he had a clear view of a weak shot and the player never ran past the line of the ball at all, it was already past him before he was even near it. 99% of keepers save that easily.

Cannot defend him at all here.

Paddy McNair:

We just didnt put the ball in the back of the net.
The all round performance was not what we expect at the Riverside.
We go again Friday.

Collective reaction?

Disappointment.
Cant dwell on it too long.
Its how you bounce back.

Yup....im only surprised Posh didn't beat us last week.
Nah as we lost to Fulham afterwards. Once we beat Posh we had ruled Typical Boro void for that pair of matches so normal service had to be resumed.

The good news is now that we've lost to a shower of $hit, Typical Boro should be valid again, which means we should beat the Muff?

Like I said he an excellent first half, we would have been one nil down if he hadn’t been on his toes clearing off the line.

Just heard the manager as effectively saying he was the best player first half but his performance dropped in the second.

There are plenty of other football clubs that will employ him if we let him go.

The weakness of the team are obvious to most people and it is not the midfield and the defence.
I just get frustrated with him because at this stage in his career he should be able to consistently deliver a corner and he really can’t! The last half an hour (bar his shot) everything he did was dreadful.

If we do by some miracle hand on to tav, fry, Jones, mcnair next year then a few additions (mainly keeper) and were nearly there
