* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Birmingham City Match - Day Thread *

To be fair - we had 3 good chances from set pieces. And other half chances.

Coburn should score. Fry's header is beating the keeper but was blocked. Crooks is unlucky as it comes off mcnair.

Then McNair has his volley from a cleared set piece.

Can't ask for more than that many chances from set plays really - its the best they've been in a while.
It's a big difference taking a set piece and having coburn, crooks , and centre halves in there vs lath and Rodgers ..
Both boxes

I'll eat my words about Dan Barlaser. I thought he was a player with some decent attributes but one who let the game pass him by too often, well he's really grown into that central midfield now. He's immense and contributes everywhere, defence, attack, he's all over the pitch doing everything! He is starting to look like the Howson replacement we hoped we were getting!
Been looking like that for weeks to be fair 🤷🏼‍♂️

Great performance all round.
The team worked well and kept knocking at the door.
Great substitution for Rogers and just reward for all the effort from the boys.
Keep playing like that and we might end up going places.
Its not yet the end of October and there are plenty of challenges to come.

One comforting thing about today was that in the lest two games, we have kept two clean sheets and scored five goals - which is one less than the 6 conceded by the deckchairs.

Keep it going.

Dominated a poor team, but struggled in the box. I cant quite work out how they are as high in the league as they are.

Hackney and Barlaser were good, and Crooks looked lively.

Birmingham could have played all day and not come close to scoring.

Delighted with the win in the end after a sketchy goal.
“Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham” as of today 👍🏻

I’m not very well so I wasn’t able to watch the game, but it sounds like it we were more clinical it would have been an absolute pasting. UTB!

Also glad because I caught the build up and it was all about Rooney.

At least he maintains his 27% win rate.

Absolutely baffling appointment, especially considering they were doing pretty well under Eustace.

Little qoute from a Brum fan page:

Boro have had more possession, way more momentum, way more shots, way more passes, more accurate passes, more corners, been in our half far more than theirs, had 3 golden chances and probably should have been given 2 pens. How are we imposing ourselves?
