*The Unofficial "Official" Blackburn v The Mighty Boro Matchday Thread*

Blackburn are officially a proper bogey team for us. One game I always think ‘these ***** are a bogey team for us’ but wonder if I’m imagining it.
not now. It’s official. They are *****.

Well, we won’t catch them if they play like that, so at least we lost to them, not someone we should be beating, or someone around us.

Lots of work to be done still, it seems.

Ikpeazu would have given the Blackburn defenders more to think about than this Connolly. He offers a different threat, Connolly is too similar to Sporar - dare I say a poorer version.

Anyhow, we keep going and fight on for the playoffs. Automatic promotion is never going to happen for us this season, we ain’t good enough up top - partly deluded if anybody thinks we can get automatic promotion this season.

Playoffs is our best hope and we are on track to make them. I had us down for mid table 10th-12th this season so in my eyes we are fighting above average.

Bruising game - 10 yellow cards. We had the lions share of possession but they earned their luck in the end as we missed some good chances. Im not very disheartened as it was always going to be tough but not too impressed with our new additions on that evidence.

Another game that Mogga has done us over, the jammy gitt. Said to my bro that this one and the next two games are massive for our season. Wr need to regroup and keep going. Keep the faith.

We played with no serious attacking intent in the first half. We got what we deserved. I think it's probably a good thing in the long run as a few things were pretty clear. We are better with Dunc on the pitch and Flo offers much more than Connolly.

Should have had a point but not a good performance.

Awful first half, bit better second but a dreadful goal to concede and Crooks should be scoring at least one of his chances.

Front two totally ineffective - Connolly getting a lot of stick but Sporar was just as bad. At least Watmore and Balogun offer some pace. Uche would have done a better job than the 2 up top tonight. Don’t want to see them as a pair again.

Disappointing. That forward line needs sorting quickly. Looked disjointed tonight, especially in first half. Isaiah was good again, however. I really don't this position suits Tav, no matter what he says. He offers little playing so deep.

No way we should of lost that. Very frustrating. Can tell these players don’t know when they are beat though, love the positive substitutions. Overall I’m disappointed but have 100 percent faith we will finish in the play offs with this manager and the way he tries to win matches.
Won't be in the play offs if they don't find a way to score goals.

Do they ever practice shooting? Or are the goals at Rockliffe 30 feet high?

That was an atrocious match and the hardest thing to take is that Blackburn were no better than Boro.

I wonder if Mowbray will be chatting that nonsense about only one team wanting to play football after that one with their 31% possession.
They were, Lumley, Fry, McNair and Djiksteel were having their own game knocking around our 18 yard box for the first half.

For me, we should have had a pen first half when Jones striking leg was swept (only saw it clearly from one camera angle) and Jones, Connolly x 2 should have at least hit the target, crooks could have had 2 headers in on another day. We did enough to win second half; and blackburn only scored through a total fluke McNair air-kick. On another day, we’d have won.

It was a close game. They had the first half, we made the changes to get hold of the second half until the hold up.
On another day Brooks scores at least one of those headers.
We worked the ball onto the byline, right on the edge of the 6 Yard box, about five times and caused chaos. It's obviously a tactic. It's exciting to see.
Winning streaks always end. It is what you do next that counts.

We have scored enough goals so far under Wilder to win plenty of matches. Tonight was certainly an off night in front of goal, it happens.

Sitting back and stifling teams isn't Mowbray's idea of playing football going by the previous garbage he's spouted after games vs Warnock.

Mogga needs to move on then our luck will change!

We started badly, yet could & should have gone in at half time one nil up, maybe two with a blatent penalty turned down
We started the 2nd half a lot brighter but fluffed our forward play, to many players playing below par

Crooks really should have scored a brace

I still dont understand why Jones was boojed, both players sprinting full velt to win a ball, hecwas 2nd, when does he decide at full pelt when to stop

Ref was awful
