* The Unofficial “Official” Chelsea v Boro - Carabao Cup SF [2nd leg] Match-Night Thread *

I have just done a dummy run for my trip tonight.

District Line tube marked Wimbledon to Fulham Broadway from Earls Court - tip - take Westward pointer to get to Fulham Broadway.

No problems reported on District Line.

At Fulham Broadway Tube walk through small shopping arcarde turn left - its a narrow pavement with Stadium on your left almost next to the Tube Station - first entrance (Britannia) on left don't take its their West Stand (Main Stand) next left turn is Bovril Entrance and the next left Stadium turn is Stamford Gate Entrance - Boro fans are going down Bovril Entrance and Stamford Gate Entrance - I am going to take SG as it look best for Block SU3. A senior steward reporting for duty advised me. but he was not 100% sure. The security staff looked like they had got out of Sixth form early today and didn't have a clue where to go.

Its very grey and overcast, but very mild, a bit of drizzle.

Plenty of Boro fans milling about even at 3pm.

Overall impression - its all very tight - I would guess the main road becomes a walkway. Leave plenty of time for everything

UTB ;)

First up great picture for your profile Roofie. Secondly.... hmmm let's hope we acquit ourselves well frustrate the bejesus out of the "multi-million pound misfits".

It is a crying shame that Jones is unavailable for tonights game. His defensive play is superb with his pace getting us out of trouble. Going forward he would be ideal for the occassional breakaway we get. Not to be though.

I think we will go 5 across the back and give our wingbacks plenty of protection from the midfield. If it's still 0-0, or even 1-0 with 30 minutes to go I can see Coburn getting a run out to help relieve pressure on our defense. I am not sure he is exactly what we need, lath would have been a better option with his pace, but again that's not to be.

What we do know is the 11 we put on the pitch will do everything in their power to get a result that sees us in a cup final. They will give their all for the fans tonight. Let's support them.

Chelsea have a big problem at right-back tonight and a few questions about whose providing their mid-field hub. I reckon Forss could do a good job from the right or down the middle, because he can be fast and he's strong. Latte Lath [although he's out] is nimble and slim, but Forss has that muscle to overcome their defenders. O`Brien could be in the frame and, even though he lacks match-minutes through injury, could do some damage against Chelsea. Jones is an obvious loss, but we have options and think St Michael will have a game plan to suit who we have. (y)

Chelsea think we will come to "park the bus"! Well, that shows how little they know about us. Some think they can kill us off with an early goal and getting straight in our faces from the off. Trouble is, we may have our weaknesses, but they provide plenty of space to exploit and the condition of some of their players is questionable to say the least.

The crowd isn't happy with performances of their “super” club, and Pochetinno isn't every fan's favourite Manager. The longer it goes on, the more frustrated their fans will become, and the atmosphere could become toxic. They are very brittle as a team. I hope all the worse that can happen for them, happens tonight, and we come away scrapping for our tickets to the Wembley Final. (y)

With these games I always assume that we are not going to make it, so that I don't get too disappointed. It also means that if we do win its extra special.

I really don't know what to think about tonight.
I'd be a lot happier if Jones was fit as we'll miss him at both ends of the pitch.
Thankfully, I haven't had one of those "feelings" like the one I had prior to the Rotherham game.
I've always wondered what it would be like to have a heart monitor strapped on while watching a game.
Probably pretty scary!

Come on you big lads, Fry ,Clarke ,RVB get yourselves on the end of a corner and plant it in the back of the net. Then defend like demons and frustrate the **** out of them.

I really hope we give a good account of ourselves today, whatever the outcome.
It’s a one off game, but admit to being so used to ending up with the wrong outcome in Chelsea results in more recent times.
It would be a very welcome win tonight.
UTB!

I think without Jones, Bangura and Lathe our lack of pace will probably find us out. That said, when we have allowed the opposition to have the ball we have defended well. Hoping for 0-0.

Gonna be interesting to see how we line up. Think it will be this…

Glover
VDB-Fry-Clarke-Engel
Howson-Barlaser
Forss-Rogers-Hackney
Crooks

But if we stick with 3-5-2 we could see this, but I think we need Howson CM…

Glover
VDB-Fry-Clarke
Howson-Engel
Hackney-Barlaser-Crooks
Rogers
Forss

The temptation must be 3 CBs given how well it worked against PL opposition previously, but the players available fit a back four much better.

Who the hell knows? Expect everyone will have put in a shift in several positions before the game is over.

I can't see us scoring from a break, but perhaps from a set piece or some intricate play. Such a shame that away goals don't count as one goal would leave them needing three. They still have to score though...
