If Thomas was a 2 then so was Ayling

in hindsight I'd drop him to a 4, he wasn't beaten every time like Thomas and he did at least attempt to get forward, rathe than bottle it and pass back

I remember when Mogga got the sack the next game against Doncaster we played Ben Gibson at LB and Rhys Williams at RB, with Woodgate and Ayala at CB. We played 4-4-2 and had 4 CB's across the back 4. It worked a treat, but I'm not sure I'd want to see us try it now.

Just wondering if, short of building a wall with breeze-blocks across the goal, we minimise the opportunities we've handed on a plate to opposition attackers, we might stand a chance. We cant defend to save our lives at the moment.
