The underpass level crossing

Totally unsafe situation, people queuing on it, then panicking and pushing forwards when the barriers come down. Saw people having to hold the barriers to get under them and off the track.
It needs policing or a much longer channelling system while the work is going on

"Unfortunately, it is likely to remain as it is for both tomorrow’s game and the big game against Leicester on November 11. Thankfully due to a run of away games and the international break it should be back to normal by the Preston North End game on Tuesday, November 28.

Please be careful and allow a little more time for travel. Stay safe."

Andy McDonald MP - posted me this press release about the situation which I posted on here before the Stoke game.

Hopefully that's the case then, however allowing more time was irrelevant to the issues it posed. The work finishing doesn't completely remove to issue, it still involves queing across a level crossing, you just move more quickly. Admittedly its been like that for 28 years

Coming out we were saying how it's dangerous if a train is coming with the slow movement of people and so many on the track not able to go forward or backward because of the number of people in front and behind
They really should have tried to get that work done as quickly as possible for safety reasons
Glad that it will supposedly be finished before the next home match

They actually upgraded the train crossing with a safety upgrade about 5 years back. They changed the barriers to open in a safer way for pedestrians.

I don't know why they have a train scheduled for kicking out time at the match....
Someone with common sense might need to get involved....👍
And while I'm certainly not saying it should be cut too fine the barriers seem to come down when the train is somewhere near Morpeth.
Sometimes there are actually as many as 6 people on the train too

I can't recall what they were like before. It didnt feel that safe coming down into people's heads. Not that the barriers are the real issue, just the logistics of it

. Planners should have ensured routes to the ground were safe when the stadium was built, it's their negligence. Fans shouldn't have to go through narrow tunnels and cross a railway line to get to the Riverside, Bound to be some sort of accident one day.

Yesterday there were loads of people caught short on the tracks when the barriers came down no where really for them to go either as it was so busy. I’m assuming there’s a sensor on the tracks..
