The timing of Raab's statement on Russian interference

Following the election of Julian Lewis as the chairman of the ISC on Wednesday and the intention to publish the long-awaited report into alleged Russian interference in the 2017 general election and the 2016 Brexit vote next week. It cannot be coincidence that after months if not years of saying there was no Russian interference that Raab has come out with this statement now. He also threw into the melting pot that they are also trying to hack our vaccine research but why not its a hot topic. The timing is all very strange indeed would this statement have come out had Grayling been elected to the ISC chair. Probably not.
Laura Kuenssberg has an article on the BBC website about very same thing https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-53436525

Interesting indeed. An admission that a report on Russia was available on October, we didn’t publish or do anything with it so they ended up interfering in the next general election

If anything it compounds their incompetence

If anything is in the Russia report that recommends anything that could have stopped Russian interfearence in the 2019 Election, then the government have shot themselves in the foot with these new reports.

They're trying to make us think that the Russians tried to help the Labour party in the last election. Trying to muddy the waters ahead of the release of the Russia report.

This quote has been various ascribed to Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (Lenin), Joseph Goebbels and other nefarious individuals but pretty accurately describes the tactic

"Accuse your opponents of what you yourself are doing"
