interesting that that last postcard states the East Riding of Yorkshire - Scarborough’s in the North Riding. I wonder when that changed?

They`ve taken away the railings and turned the entrance area into a taxi-rank and drop off point.
The glazed frontage also makes the inner concourse slightly less exposed to the weather and does make it more comfortable inside.
The nice concrete blocks opposite dont quite have the appeal of the former hotel.
"Progress" apparently?

used to love my holidays there in the 70's. I remember swiming at Scalby Mills, dodging the sewage. it was thought you would be ok as long as you didnt touch a turd. Must have strengthened my immune system
