The Royal Family pretending to care….

True but you can inspire others to help them to overcome it.
What can they aspire? They have an unattainable level of status and wealth for anyone in this country.

I'm sorry but that's just apologist waffle, poverty is overcome through opportunity and investment in people and resources. By taking the crown estate (acquired through blood) and investing that money in services and programmes that help underprivileged people then it could have an impact. Having rich entitled people pose for photo ops will achieve naught.

I meant more that their actions will inspire individuals to give to others. Fair enough, it's not going to help to overcome poverty in this country, it won't probably won't even help the individual that is receiving the donation to overcome their own poverty, but even if it just helps a little then it has to be seen as a positive thing.

I'm on the fence with regards to whether we should have a royal family or not but I do agree that something should be done regarding their enormous wealth. One option would be to phase out the majority of titles and payouts until we have a small royal family with a modest estate. Tax them so that gradually over a period of many years the vast wealth is in the hands of the state, not the family.

You surely can’t be serious?

Let’s hope it inspires the next generation to be born into obscene amounts of generational wealth so they never have to work a day in their life. Not sure it quite works like that.

You also can’t inspire someone out of poverty

If they were actually serious about ending the use for baby banks, they could possibly sell one of the vast number of palaces they own that aren’t used?

But let’s be honest they don’t care about about changing anything, it’s an empty PR gesture to make it look like they care and to keep the public onside

Agree with some of what you say but can't agree that we should retain the royals or they should be able to retain their obscene unearned wealth.

The crown estate and their lands should be returned to the people they stole it from both home and abroad. Where that's not possible that wealth should be used on society and not their castles and lands.

It's 2023, they are a relic of the past and should be left there. Just my opinion of course.

Do you think they should be able to avoid inheritance tax and circumvent the law to suit their financial "needs" because of the family they were born or married into?

The whole concept of a royal is outdated and they should be repatriating the wealth they have stolen over the centuries both abroad and at home.
Button up or you'll be hung drawn and quartered for that sort of talk

As I said above, what I meant was that giving to others can help that individual who may be struggling. Celebrities, members of the Royal Family giving to others may inspire others to do the same.

The Crown estate belongs to the Sovereign for the duration of their reign, but can't be sold by them.

Then nationalise it

This is pretty sickening in my view.
Parent takes children to place to teach them that not all kids are as fortunate as they are and that helping other people is a good thing.

Yeah sickening.
