There was George VI coinage around for donkey's years after he died.

I remember coins with his head on in the mid 80’s.

I‘m no royalist but the Queen seemed like a good person to me, she lived in a different universe to the vast majority of people but she was dignified and conscientious in everything she did. I think the contrast in how she acted throughout the Covid crisis and how many politician’s acted, well demonstrated this.

Had a bloke last night in pub, never seen him before, give everyone a speech that while alot of us can't wait to retire at 65 after 45 years work, the queen fulfilled her duties for 70 year until her late 90s

Wonderful servent to this country, one of who most of us has only knew our entire lives, may she rest in peace

think it will be a lot quicker than in the past as we are moving more towards a plastic society than a coin and paper one. But yeah probably more than a couple of years.
The question of will it be Charles or William who is the last monarch to have their image printed/embossed on actual currency? Other than the odd collectable, which isn't actually worth anything or is an ornamental piece that never gets used.

As I can't see it being George.
